The Mrs. has just bought me, as a Christmas present, a set of Orange F8 rigid forks for the commuter bike:

    F8RIGID_200.jpg

These are to replace the heavy, useless suspension forks that it currently carries. One step closer to having a proper road bike :)
Today is a good day to ride

Sell the kids why you can, once they've grown up they're only useful for the organs

So this credit crunch thing - what is it, some form of cereal?

Damn you Wiggle with your platinum discounts and uncanny ability to start stocking things that I've been thinking about buying...

    Jash they are beautiful....

I ought to order those brake pads from my other thread. And maybe some more glasses as my dhb ones are both cracked and missing, and my eyes are welling up a treat whenever I set off at the moment!

Other than that there's nothing I actually want apart from perhaps some handlebars for my Trek, and even then I can't be faffed to install them...

The only problem is that, if you have to actually wear them, the insides will get dirty.

Let me know what that jacket is like, I'm intrigued. Can't wait for the new wheels to arrive, it may be some time though. I've bought some red ProRace 3 tires in preparation! The blokes in Sigma rate the FFWD's very highly so here's hoping they're decent.
  • Nice gloves! Are they to stop your white bar tape getting black glove residue on it? I give you approx 2 weeks before they're not white any more....

    NFC (not for commuting) gloves!

Actually I've never had a problem with black gloves marking white tape (yet).

    Or

    http://www.primera-bournemouth.co.uk/Te ... prodID=105

Or some pointers to reasonably priced kit would be good as I do not have a big budget.

skye, I've not got any but a lot of people really rate lusso stuff so go get :)
I've got some dhb Merston bibtights (personally, i'd always go bib rather than waist) which are great and about the same pricepoint as those lussos.

Well if you can't see the cracks surely there's no problem, eh? ;)
  • All this talk of colours and buying stuff (and boredom at work): would it be wrong to install a Charge Spoon sadal in brown on a Giant Defy 2? Tradition meets modern...or a style disaster?

Are both of your socks the same colour.... are you sure?

Yes it would be wrong, but only because it does not either match or clash (in a good way that would work) but it's your bike, stuff what others think!
