Just 3 at the moment. But if I can quit buying bike stuff for the rest of the year, then maybe I can get myself a new fixie in early 2009. That said, I have just spent the afternoon browsing upgrades on the Merlin website. I'm thinking Sram X9 rear mech and shifters and Rock Shox Reba Race forks for the Rockhopper.

Picked up some wicking base layers from M&S of all places, they seem to work well. Kept me warm these past couple of cold mornings, but not too sweaty.

    Coming soon:
A set of Conti Ultra Gators in 26x1.25 ish
    Orange F8 rigid forks
Cheap backup rear light of some kind
Today is a good day to ride

  • Campagnolo Chorus (2009) 11sp gruppo.

Great deal at Merlin (well i think and hope it was). It was certainly far cheaper than the quote i recieved from the local bike shop which was a shame as ideally i would liked to have bought it from them - but with a price difference of around £400 it was a no-brainer really.

Endura overshoes - thin ones with hi-viz £23 from the LBS (who I bet haven't taken the VAT off yet but he made me giggle when he likened putting them on to putting on ladies tights I forgave him)

Soon to get new tyres - diappointed they all seem to be black

No no no tyres come in all colours, Michelin road tyres are totally fab i've been riding in mud and off road for the last month in a pair of 700x23c Michelin LITHION they have better grip than any on my conti tyres including my speedkings.

    Just look at the colours....

I got 2 of those long sleeve tees from Wiggle when they were on sale for a tenner.. very useful for under a winter top if you don't need extra thermalisation, good for wicking

I ordered them on friday lunchtime adn they arrived in the Sat post !!! I've had good service so far with my wiggle purchases

anyone heard of these Bontrager e-sole shoes? Tried some on the other day and they put quite a lot of pressure on my arch. Suppose that may be a good thing but I'm not used to the feel so I don't know if I'll get used to it. Nice shoes though, and I need some new ones (well, not strictly "need", but you all know what I mean!)

    It's this one

It's pretty good actually, my only complaint is that the neck is too small with it zipped up - or equally my neck is too big!

Other than that it's great - the gripper stuff stops it riding up, and it's just the right temperature for over bib shorts to keep me warm but not too hot.

    Other recommendations welcomed!

    Last few weeks I've bought....

High Viz reflective helmet band £15
Respro Hump (version with lights in it) £35
2 blackburn mars 4.0 rear lights £17 ea
    New air cylinder pump £5.00
    30 air cylinders £16.00
10 day training camp in Majorca in April  £50

Has been an expensive few months when you also consider new car, new front door, House rewire, decorating house (see rewire).

Next month is Christmas and it is daughters birthday on the 3rd Jan (bad planning I know)

Looks like stuff for next season will have to wait until the season

No just buy them in bulk, they are about £1.50 each or 30 for £16.00.

Makes sense as I then save money for the zipp404 fund
