Oh I hate you now. I've been telling myself for a while that I dont need one of these, but I fear I'm fighting a loosing battle.
I lnow it won't make any difference to my riding (I cycle to get fitter and lose weight) but I love the look of them and I'm like a magpie attracted to shiny things.
It's only Mrs Z's reaction when she finds out what I squandered our money on that prevents my from buying one. She'd make Mrs Bobbit look like an amateur.
Mind you, she was quite happy to spend upwards of £700 on net cutains!!!! Lucky I dragged her from the shop before the assistant could reach us.
It may not suprise those readers who are married that we're not talking just now. :?0 -
Oh it will make a difference to your riding, since buying the Ridgeback I've really enjoyed my road rides a lot more it makes me want to do more miles, I can't recomend it highly enough. Better than a net curtain any day!0

My '900' lumen Magicshine light arrived from Hong Kong yesterday..3.5 weeks waiting. It's 10 times better than I expected...smaller, lighter, and better build quality than I ever imagined.0

Not yet.
Stripped down the seat bracket and cleaned it all last night and put on the saddle from my 'spare' bike. that didn't work, so I'm planning to take the post out tonight and clean and regrease that and the clamp.
The rails on the saddle I took off are starting to look quite badly corroded so figure it's time for a new saddle anyway - don't fancy one of them giving way on me half way into work... :shock:0 -

Let us know what it's like; fit, how warm etc.
I've just ordered another 2* Skins long-sleeve base layers. Quite like the look of the Canterbury stuff though & it's easier on the wallet than Skins I bet.
:edit:
I just visited Wiggle
Endura MT500 - people seem to like how durable these are. We shall see - tried Endura stuff before and I didn't really like it, but they're only overshoes eh?

I was on the verge or ordering one of them, but as I have AYUP's already, I think I am going to go for a selection of torches from DX for additonal lights on the bonce and bars, and then I think it gives me more flexibility.snellgrove wrote:Endura MT500 - people seem to like how durable these are. SG - I had a pair of the basic Endura overshoes, and I have to say the bottoms did not last very long before they started going through.
I repaired them with needlework and lots of gaffertape, which prolonged their life for a year though.
The MT500's look more sturdy, so would be interested to hear how you get on,

I have worn it to work and back and it seems to do the job very well. It's comfortable, well fitted and warm (I got the slightly contrarily-labelled "cold" s/l base layer, which is apparently for cold weather). No complaints for £20.0 -
I've just bought this from america

Now do I buy these from america also? I can't find them over here.

I got a pair of the MT500s a year or so ago and they've had a fair bit of wear. The bottom bit and toe area is much more sturdy than the cr@ppy Nike ones I had before. The only problem I've had is that the zip broke on one a couple of days ago. Going to buy the Endura Luminites for the slightly warmer weather, but will probably get some new MT500s for the depths of winter.0 -
All overshoes are not equal
Rule #5 // Harden The Feck Up.
Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Rule #12 // The correct number of bikes to own is n+1.
Rule #42 // A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.0 -
MT500s are the best overshoes I've ever used. Most have fallen apart straight away.0

I was tempted by the lovely Castelli Diluvio pictured there, but I asked a Q on the Wiggle site and someone told me it's road shoe only, and I've got MTB shoes
Mind you, BikeRadar had a preview in the news section and the Diluvio overshoe looked a bit crap there, to be honest.0 -
Bought my rear hub spacers, sprocket and chain for "the world's slowest singlespeed conversion". Here's hoping my parcel dodges the worst of any strike backlogs0

I've worn mine twice and the elastic has gone on one of the sole openings. I'm unimpressed, but will be sending them back for an exchange rather than a refund.
Yesterday my Ortlieb Velocity (Yellow / Black) arrived. Very, very happy with it, just needs some reflective tape plastering all over it and it will be perfect.Mud - Genesis Vapour CCX

Just got hold of another Baselayer (you can never have enough).
Got hold of the Gore Leg Warmers to see if i stick with them for this winter, I've used them once and apart from startup problems where they were round my knee's they were comfortable and kept me knees lovely and warm.

Also got a Charge Spoon Saddle as I just get along with Spesh one that comes with the bike.New to the Game
