    Hellloooo

Well I am Miss Bint, also known in real life as Heather....or well Miss Bint ;)

I live in Sheffield but long to live in the alps .....one day

Can't MTB to save my life, have always fallen off more than anyone else in the world ever...I blame dyspraxia but I'm so stubborn I never give up! I love snowboarding too, both sports meaning I am pretty much constantly injured and moaning about being injured for the sympathy vote in a particulary girly fashion lol.

Im almost 30.....having a crisis becasue Im approaching the biig 30 very fast eeeepppp!

I ride...err a bike.....will post some pics soon....pinky promise....will be camera phone rubbishness though as I lost my camera in Tignes falling over snowboarding haha! That's me in the pic trying to look cool.....and failing miserably!

    So yer....hello from meeeee :)

pvtpile, nice bike. Thats an aggressive looking stem there! Is it a 120?

Also, how you finding your seatpost? I assume it's a new crank brothers one (the extended travel version, right?)

As my name would suggest I am from a place closer to the moon than anywhere else on earth. I would recommend you go and ride in NZ if you ever have the sniff of a chance!

My current ride of choice with some new goodies when it was freshly unwrapped last year.

It kinda looks mostly brown these days :)

I'm James. nicknamed Bomber a while back, allegedly for my toilet habits but who knows really.

I'm English but have been living abroad since 1992, mostly in Asia with the last 4 years in Brussels. I work in Antwerp for "an oil company" and ride mostly in the Ardennes at weekends and our local forest during the week. I am what would be kindly termed middle aged but with no kids and Mrs B (a beer swilling Canuk I met in Singapore many moons ago) is a mountainbiking fan aswell, so bike budgets are good in our house.

    I have;

Brand New Ibis Tranny (new Singlespeed, not yet built up, will finish it this weekend)
'07 Evil Sovereign (my everything Hardtail. on the lardy side, but that keeps me fit)
'03 Kona Stinky D (sadly underused, Mrs B wants shot of it)
'08 Cotic Road Rat (my comuter, I drive to antwerp then ride out onto the haven, where I work)

    She has;

    '00 Cannondale F1000
    '08 Yeti 575
Brand new Da Silva steel framed tourer

we have 2 cats and like beer
Everything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer

If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day

I've got a pic of a 46lb cat ( ) on page 9 of this thread. Currently awaiting the 16th to have a go at some heavily plated Leneys this year, shame they don't get much bigger than very early twenties. I'll have to get some time in on a few day ticket waters and have a go at some trophyhunting aswell!

Graham, from Glasgow. 37. Been on here a couple of weeks. This is my bike. I'm really growing to like it a lot - took it off road for the first time this weekend at Pollock Park and thoroughly enjoyed it. Had the bike about two weeks, having not ridden in about 8 years.

You should find the geometry nice and tight, and just right for fast twisty trails :)

    Im Andrew from North Devon.

Been riding bikes for quite a while but never had enough money to buy anything decent until this year.
Currently riding an 09 Specialized FSR XC COMP with upgraded front forks to Rockshox REBA Team 2009 with Pushloc which are fantastic. So responsive and so light.
Thanks to everyone in the forum who gave me advice on buying them!

Paul from Reading. Ride the Chilterns, Swinley Forest and Wales or the Alps when I get the chance.

I have an 04 Handjob with nothing fancy on it - highlights component wise are a set of Crossrides and an M4 front brake and a new drive train.

I also have a Patriot which I hardly use as its a bit downhill specific with its beefy rims and tyres.

There's an 80mm travel Inbred somewhere as well with road tyres and a rack - I never got on with it so I lent it to a mate.

No pics of any of them available at time of going to press.

I have guided for a season in the Alps and I am a ski instructor in Canada during the winters. If anyone is booking a holiday come to Silver Star Mountain Resort, ask for me for a lesson and I get extra commission - go on you know you want to!?
