    sheeeeet!
    sheeeeeet indeed.

The guy he appeared to try to run over clearly wasn't even the person(s) he was arguing with at the first set of lights. So maybe just hates all cyclists. Couldn't quite see what happened first at the left turn, but assuming he left hooked someone and then clearly reverses back at speed to hit them (again?). Nutter! On multiple cameras it looks like. Wonder what the police did at the time if anything?

I cut through Morden Hall Park on the way home most nights. Last night was interesting as I interrupted what appeared to be a porn film being shot.

Can anyone recommend a good helmet cam?

There are some utter loons out there who shouldn't be in possession of a driving licence and this guy is one of them. This should be an open and shut case of immediate loss of licence due to not being fit to hold one (it won't, it'll be a fine and a few points and off he goes again).
I had one with a very aggressive Prius/minicab driver being aggressive to others and when I pulled up alongside to try and calm him down (he was already using his can as a weapon) it finished with him trying to get out and "fite me". Sadly no video evidence but this is an area where road traffic law is under gunned and these halfwits should have their cars seized and licence removed on the spot.

First ride in since the Ride100 at the weekend (I've spent the last 3 days standing up all day teaching). My legs are obviously still tired. Got overtaken by all and sundry this morning!

My new commute is less than 2 kilometers long - from Brooklands to Timperley

On the plus side, I did overtake a bloke in his eighties this morning, and a couple of nights ago, I beat a bloke from one set of lights on the A56 to another (approximately 80 yards)...

Let's just put it this way, even with a comprehensive bike clean and re-lube there are a lot of things squeaking now that didn't before. Possibly due to it not being designed to be a bloody submarine!

Yesterday and today I've been enjoying the pleasures of taking my best bike onto the commute, normally it stays at home while my CAADX ploughs through the London streets. Amazing how much of a difference it makes, have been blasting PRs both to and from work at pretty much the same average heart rate.

Shame that the CAADX is now ready to be picked up from the LBS after it has been serviced.......

If you've enjoyed it more, why not ride it more? Weather is set fair again.

I may ride it into town every now and then, but in a masochistic kind of way using the heavier, slower CAADX on the commute is my version of hitting the gym !!!

Dropped a nodder on semi-deep sections this morning, on the Raleigh in full retro gear. Are they still a nodder when they weave in the direction of their pedal stroke? Or is that a chopper? He had this strange swaying, weaving nod technique.

Also dropped a middle aged woman on an ebike. She couldn't have cared less, but in my mind I was the champion of this morning's commute.

There is that. I measured it yesterday. 0.8km from my office front door to the first lane. Win!

Had some competition on the ride in this morning for the first time in ages. Was bimbling a bit going through Bushy Park, as I crossed the road I caught sight of a quick rider behind me so put in a bit more effort. He was behind me the rest of the way through the park, at a reasonable distance as I could just see his shadow on occasion with a low sun behind us. Glad he kept a good distance when a spaniel ran across in front of me causing some heavy breaking. Turned out he was going the same route as the rest of the way to work. I had to keep the pressure on but was definitely flagging as I turned off. Looked across as I turned right and he was on what looked like a rather nice Cervelo. Managed to keep my scalp but I'm sure he was the stronger rider by a margin. Checked Strava and I got two PRs.
May have seen Kingstonian as I got to the end of my road, but my eyes weren't open yet and he would have been running about 10 minutes late.

Yeah, pretty sure it was me, I saw you out of the corner of my eye at the very last second so was took late to see if it was you or not. I've been a bit of a lazy git in the mornings recently so whereas I was previously always out of the door at 7am I've been dawdling and leaving a bit later every day

Yeah, pretty sure it was me...
Had a feeling it was, disc brakes and I think it was a 'dale. I couldn't say hello because by the time realisation filtered through to my consciuosness we would have been quite some distance apart. That and I'm even grumpier than usual in the mornings.

The bike was off the road for a couple of days while getting new chain, chainring and cassette fitted. Been blasting to work on my nice bike for those two days so it was a bit of a let down to get on the CAADX again

Headlines are not written by the journalist who writes the story. It's pretty standard for the headline to be misleading clickbait.

Very lucky there was a big group of cyclists at that junction or I'm sure he would have followed through with his threats. Had something similar to the original swerve into the bike lane/undertake the other day in Brixton. Watched him weave in and out of the traffic into the distance and thought 'glad he's now in front of me'.

Sadly, the thing that first struck me about that video was the quality - crisp and steady. Some relief that no-one appeared to have been injured, there’s more than one video and the police were involved by the end of it.
