Thanks for the reply, Im free on both saturday and sunday if you are up for it. Where is best to meet at thorndon? as I will probably chuck the bike in the back of the car.

Belv will he mind me PMing him? When and where do you ride?
I will probably cry off for another weekend, will see how i feel after Thursday nights ride.

It doesn't really matter where to meet. I prefer the south car park because it's nearer to me and the A127 but the north car park is nearer the bulk of the singletrack trails.

    Map: http://www.essexcc.gov.uk/vip8/ecc/ECCW ... elOid=null

When i ride from the south car park i use the bridlepaths through the fields at the bottom of the park and up in to the woods on left hand side. Cross the road above the north car park and then loop down to Warley gap and back into Thorndon before heading back to the south car park on the bridleways again. Roughly!

i'll let you know how muddy it is, when thorndon gets muddy it really gets muddy!

Just got back, bloody hell it's slippery over there! Mind I did have the added obstical of my large gay dog I took with me!
Had a few moments over there. Got my jacket caught on my saddle while I was trying to get over the rear going down hill, the bike wasn't stoping and panic set in!
Luckily I put my V8's on just before I went and by god I'm glad I did!

Night riding is only fun (imho) on trails you know well or in very open spaces.
it adds a little bit of fear factor and extra adrenerlin.
Luckily i know thorndon quite well.

as regards to easy trails, theres always just the cycle path around the park? or just stick to the sign posted routes?

Rode for 3 1/2 hours over Thorndon today that was including from my house and back.

Kept up a fast pace for the conditions, so as a group ride probably longer.

Conditions are on the slippy side and the leaves, which is some areas are quite deep, made for an entertaining ride.

Half way round stacked it off the bridge at Thorndon South, I seem to have a thing with bridges at the moment.

So if anyone is interested in this little jaunt around Thorndon let me know.
Now where's that "Get Out of Crash Free Card"

It doesn't look too bad: dry and not cold for the time of year.
    Is anyone else going?
