Probably a bit late so apologies but I'll be heading out up to Langdon Hills tomorrow for a ride at about 12 ish. I'll be going down the nature reserve first then undecided where to go next. If anyone wants to come along, post up here and, I'll check up here in the morning and see.
I'll try and be at the Welcome Centre in the Nature Reserve car park at about 12:45 and will probably be in the shop for 15 minutes ish. So if anyone wants to come along, just post on here and turn up.

No worries. I work all sorts of hours so sometimes get time off in the week, maybe others are in the same boat.

I'm not going to look at this thread again tonight in case a last minute ride gets confirmed, I'll be kicking myself!

    Cheers all 8)

I would love to but i think i'm taking a week off as i hurt in places i didnt know existed!

I tell you what, i learnt alot over this summer with all the racing and training, makes a visit to wales alot more enjoyable when your fitness level is that much higher.
i need to put more emphisis on upper body now, i had to sit for most of the last section of whytes level as i couldnt hold my body up anymore!
    Trully awesome weekend though.

Sounds like you had a good un. I'll have to take you up on your offer and join you next time you go. Any idea when it'll be?

Probably next year now as when it comes to riding in sideways rain and snow the others are a bit elusive!

  • Hi all,

Me and a mate are planning to have a little trip to Langdon Hills tomorrow afternoon for a blat around for a couple of hours.

I haven't been there since my folks took me there for picnics when I was a kid - a long time ago! So our great plans of an afternoons biking are complete except for the small details of:

    A. Not a clue how to get there or where to park for the best riding
    B. Where the best riding is to be had.
    C. Anywhere to avoid!

I'm sure all the info is contained within the 27 pages that this thread has but any quick pointers would be handy.

We had planned to come and join one for your weekend rides but he was ill last weekend and I ended getting lost with some mates in Epping forest!

    Thanks

    Pete

Late next week onwards should be ok for me.
  • went to thorndon today blasting around finding new tracks as it is the second time i have been clocked up 38 miles  would love to meet up with some body who knows where they are acually going felt like i was peddeling round in circles still saying that what a buzz  [
  • Took a chance and visited Langdon Hills today without any real plan of where to find the good riding. Everywhere seemed to be closed to bikes :x and riding bridle ways is a tad boring. We did find one bit of quite nice single track, which must have been used for the enduro race as loads of the roots had been sprayed with marker paint.

    Where did we go wrong?

Hi, I posted on here a while back but never had a chance to come out on a ride. I have my weekends free now so looking for a regular ride on saturday or sunday. I am located in eastwood and looking for some XC/trail riding in and around essex. People mentioned Throndon before so am up for riding there or abouts. Is there a group of folks who ride on these days and if so where do you usually ride. If you could post on here or pm me a time and a place I will try my best to make it along. Or if someone new knows the trails over thorndon and wants to start a weekend ride I would be cool with that too.

    Cheers
  • (MTBKARL ) i too am new to thorndon but have found some good stuff with my cousin who is new to mtb so is still cutting his teeth you are welcome to tag along with us next time we go out :D usually go out for a couple of hours nothing heavy its just nice to get out on the trails

  • Thanks for the reply, Im free on both saturday and sunday if you are up for it. Where is best to meet at thorndon? as I will probably chuck the bike in the back of the car.

Belv will he mind me PMing him? When and where do you ride?
  • Night ride around Langdon Hills leaving car park on Lower Dunton Road @ 7.00 pm, all welcome.
