Sorry to throw a spanner in the works, but there are two "one tree hill" car parks: one at the bottom of the hill, one at the top. I suggest meeting at the bottom one since it joins on to the cycle paths.

    Pages 9&10 of this information pack: http://mudsweatgears.sxevents.co.uk/MSG ... mation.pdf
    shows how to get there.

And I'll be taking a few quid for a tea/coffee and cake stop half way round (as long as that doesn't mess up your training for Wales?)

    Hi ML,

I'm keen to explore a few more 'local' trails as with twins coming, my 'away day' and weekend in Wales options will be limited next year!

Thought if I had a nice bag of 3 or 4 places to ride, it'd stop me getting bored of the same old routes....

Do you know if there are there any GPS routes available for Rayleigh?

    Thanks
    BJB

    Hi Jimmy,
I have no idea were we went on Tuesday it was too dark and way to fast.
The best way is to come with me on Tuesday night the guys are really nice chaps and would really welocome new commers. I went out with them again on Thursday and i think we did over 30 miles Hadleigh Country Park, Hadleigh Castle. The next thing we are in Leigh High Street. From there we went and did a load of the Tuesdays ride I got back to Cannvey at 9.30. Whilst the trails are this dry it is great fun.

Also if anyone is also up Langdon Hills/ One Tree Hill area could I tag along?

  • Hi Joe - Prob a bit late for this now but I'm up for getting out over Langdon Hills tomorrow. I've never been there before though so don't know it. Will have to be about 10-11ish start though. I'll be signing off soon but I'll check in the morning....

EddieTeflon and I stopped by for a drink at about the same time you were typing that post, actually.

And a ranger politely informed us that parts of the MS&G race course aren't normally open to cycles

did you find out what the event is next week in langdon?

Anyone here doing this Rotary Club ride? Never ridden here before, so was wondering what the "challenging course" is like. I live in Enfield, so only about 30 miles away. Was going to bring my 15 year old as well.......we normally cycle around Forty Hall, Hillyfields, Crews Hill and Trent Park.

    Cheers

I don't know their exact route, but since it is "mainly over cycle ways within the park" it won't be technically challenging although there are some steep climbs dotted about the place. Don't get me wrong, i love cycling around there but i have already been around all the cycle ways and would only have been interested if they were opening up big chunks of the footpaths for the day.
