Q: What do you call a sheep tied to a fence in Wales?
    A: A leisure center.

    Q. What do you call a Welshman with many girlfriends?
    A. A Shepherd.

    Q. Did you hear that Welsh people have discovered a new use for sheep?
    A. Wool.

    Old Jones' nickname
A man moves to a village in Wales and gets talking to an old man from the village.
He asks the old man what his name is, but the old man gets very irate at this point and says:
    - See that line of houses over there? I built them all, but do they call me Jones the house builder? Do they hell!
    - See those railway lines over there? I laid them all, but do they call me Jones the engineer? Do they hell!
    - See those bridges over that river? I built them all, but do they call me Jones the bridge builder? Do they hell!
    - But, a long long time ago, I fucked ONE sheep...

Oh Russ I can sense a heady mixture of boredom and excitement!

Are you going to pack some of these and some velcro gloves? I might abstain as my love life is complicated enough as it is at the moment :?

Captain invisible will attend too! Yeah, like you ever expected that...

That said, all going well.. I'm going to be riding Bedgebury for the 1st time this Sunday..
  • Bedgebury 2 weekends ago was really good, pretty dry (though the place never drains well) and, though the carpark was packed, the trails were quiet.

It'll be my first time there 2moz on a bike that I've only ridden twice.. The 1st time I broke it and the second time (2nite) I've discovered that I can coaster/jump of 4.5ft steps and enjoy it... So much difference from my hardrock!
That said, I did come within about 22mm of maxxing out my forks
Got the rear shock set at 125, which is spot on!

Leaving for Bedgebury at 9.30ish if anyone is gonna be there... Come say hi if you are..

Be in a Blue or Red van with a bunch of guys on Marin Rocky Ridges and a Marin full suss something or other, oh and a Cannondale hardtail..

Was a good day out there in the end, didn't like the way the trails were so short though, constantly stopping and starting was winding me up bike time though.
Saw another rider go headfirst into some foliage though, with legs left in the air
I didn't fall off though, had a near slip on the freeride stuff and lost my balance on the slim plank but managed to pull an emergency wheelie..

And that last berm on the dirt jumps, just as you come round onto the 2 big ones at the bottom... I dont know what was up with that but I'd hit it with the best line I could find and come out twice as slow... :?

Bedgbury is a gravel ridden pile of poo, White's level is much better:-) none of our local trails will be the same again! I want to move to Wales.

Now now Andy, that pile of gravelly poo is the closest thing we have to a trail centre over here.

So when you move to Wales do you want to share the removal van??!

We're doing Afan, pretty much the same as the other guys are currently doing by the looks of it.

Cant wait to get on the Wall and Whites - Never been before, it would be my first "proper" biking weekend.

I guess I will have to sit and browse Flickr and Youtube to see what Im missing! :(

    Bring on October!!!

BMJBOY make sure you spend the next month before Afan building up your smile muscles  You are gonna be grinning more than you've ever done before. The trails are nothing short of perfection. The Whites Leves climb is almost magical! Lung busting but probably the most fun you can have riding uphill  Before you realise it it look like you've climbed half-way to the moon 8)
My pictures will be on my gallery in about 30 mins. See if you can spot the sheep shagger.

Im gonna have to put my head on upside down Impished for the moment! - I want to be on those trails right now!

I will gladly take a look at your gallery later, hopefully I can see something other than the light reflecting off your massive grins!!

BTW, I do own a van, so once Ive been we could all go and start a little community in the valleys, I dont mind making a few trips!

Do you want a start a new thread called "Kent MTBers in Wales" ? 8)

Andyturner28 rode a OnOne HT with us and he had no problems. I really wouldn't fancy lugging a heavy long travel bike up those climbs  Be fun on the way back down though

One in Between, your be pushing the big hit up but it would be excellent down. Hardtail would be good on the up but your be bounced around lots on the downs.

Ill have my helmet camera footage up withing the week of the individual runs, the Dollys Adventures Video will be released within 2 weeks hopefully. I have alot of footage to capture on to the pc and the editing.

/\ /\ /\ This was my take on 'full body armour' as discussed in a previous thread. It provided good protection, although i have to admit was slightly more restricting than i'd hoped
  • Dont lie that was your protection in case Russ jumped you in the Night.....lol

Any way pics are up and should have vids up very soon. will post again once up

I've just noticed that no one got any pics of that mega technical erm..... wooden bridge that Nick and Mark manage to have a pile-up on

40-odd miles of sweet technical trails and the biggest crash was on the bridge by the fishing lake!!!! Oh, how stupid did we look
