Oi, Jezza, why don't you embed your pics?
Those are some strange looking bikes you've got there.
Disc brakes, massive mudguards, front bouncy thing, slick(ish) tyres, BMX style flat pedals and the most vertical head tube I think I've ever seen, but, hey, they're custom builds so they must be good, right?
What is your commute like (urban, rural, offroad etc)?FCN 3: Raleigh Record Ace fixie-to be resurrected sometime in the future
FCN 4: Planet X Schmaffenschmack 2- workhorse
FCN 9: B Twin Vitamin - winter commuter/loan bike for trainees
I'm hungry. I'm always hungry!0 -

Yes they are, what suits one will not suit another, they are most comfortable, and at 50+ I go for comfort, and at £800 and £1600 respectively I have what I want.
They are as suited (locked out) to the road as they are (sus) to XC.
How do you embed pics :?:Peds with ipods, natures little speed humps

First time out on it with them fitted, took another 2.5 minutes off my commute home, and didn't feel like I was putting in any more effort.0 -
Commuter and winter training bike.
2011 Cube Attempt Compact and really pleased with it, and very well specced for a grand.

I've recently upgraded from a hybrid to my first road bike. Done a fair bit of work to it since I got it (new front wheel, new tyres, new stem, gear servicing) but I think it's looking in good shape now. Look away now if you don't like red or black......

In a very similiar vein, this was mine until last week, sold it now to fund a new road bike, i miss it
In the meantime I'll keep using old faithful...

@woodnut - Funnily enough, the red and black motif was inspired by another one that I saw on ebay when I was buying this one. I know Carrera doesn't get a lot of street cred but I'm pretty chuffed with it.0

My latest build - first ride to work on it today and very pleased. After building a mostly new Racelight T2 for 'best' I put this together on a budget for commuting and some amateur cx racing - everything apart from chain, cassette, front mech, headset and tyres was second hand.
Kinesis Crosslight Pro5 frame + generic brand carbon fork
Easton EA50 stem and bars with Tioga stumpy bar ends
Mavic CXP22 rims and Tiagra hubs, Schwalbe Marathons 28c for commuting
SRAM apex 48/34 chainset, GXP BB, TIagra cassette 11-28, Mavic chain
R443 shifters, Deore front, 105 rear mechs, Avid flak jacket sealed cables
Shimano BR450 cantis with Diacompe levers from 1991!
Planet X post and saddle

Finally got round to sorting a photo: 2010 Trek 1.2 Triple
A totally different commute after using my old Giant Upland SE MTB - The Trek is far more precise, quicker, fun... Very happy with it
Knocked around 10 mins off my 9 mile commute, and is being used in a 280 mile charity ride from London to Dublin next month
Quite addicted to cycling now....0 -

Just got the same bike a week ago, luckily paid for it before the £50 hike...... anyway.... how the tyres working out? Had schwalbe city jets on the old MTB commute before the Kenda's on the new bike and finding it a bit weird with the skinnier tyres, just don't trust them when turning.0 -

Took delivery of a new commuting bike on Wednesday to add to my collection of bikes. A Giant Escape 2. I managed to buy it new online for £320 which I thought was quite a good price.
Spent yesterday assembling it, adding mudgaurds, pannier rack, and cycling computer. Then finished it off with a prop stand and final adjustments today.
Pretty please with it so far. Although I've not had a chance yet to ride it outside of our garden.0 -
Should be better than the 1996 gt avalanche for the commute not done it this year though 21miles
just a few bits needed pannier speedo etc
new to clipless so just going to do the sweep stake till the sideways topple lol
did a short ride today and the drop bars may take a little bit to get used tooNot that bad but bad enough for me0 -
