Okay so I have to agree on that one.

Sketch ditch the saddle bag, it's totally ruins the lines - good job NapD's not on here anymore

    See rule #31

PS. very nice bike, time to get it out in the countryside.

#31 is wrong if you are a large bloke, bulging at the front and the back is not a good look. Agree it kind of spoils the lines though. Still so do I when I sit on top.

Countryside, yes. This weekend. May need shorter stem at some point.

Sure this will encourage a few more SCR attempts!

    Very nice. 8)

You must have freakishly long legs! :)

Then, on the other hand, and perhaps by way of bringing us all down to earth after the beauty on display in the last couple of pages, we have ITB's bike. (It's not right to post another picture of it.)

@ITB - What. The hell. Is that you're riding? :o

Rear wheel cobbled together from an old MTB screw on hub, respaced to 120mm and laced to a MAvic Open 4CD rim.

Thanks guys :D Looks nicer now and I've replaced saddle and bar tape for black, and also given it a clean!

As soon as the weather turns more rubbish this will be coming out. Just got to pop a back brake on, and apply the bar tape off the Giant and it's ready to do some scalping along Embankment!

Here's my trusty commuter - do around 100 miles per week on it, come rain or shine or hangover:

    2007 Lemond etape
    Tiagra shifters
    105 rear mech
    Tiagra front
    Ultegra 12-27 cassette
Bontrager 53/39 chainset (soon to be a tiagra compact as soon as I get the BB out, grrrr)
    Shimano RS20 wheels, de-stickered
    Deda bar & stem
    Deda black leather-look perforated tape
    Bontrager seatpost
Selle Italia C2 Genuine Gel saddle
Crank bros Eggbeaters (should be called legbeaters...)
    Jagwire cables (ebay specials)
    Tacx Tao bottle cage
Schwalbe Lugano 23c tyres (which don't really deserve a mention as they appear to be made from those self-destructing elastic bands that posties use but hey...)

Bought this as a cheapish runabout to replace my Dolan which got nicked & slowly upgraded most of the parts - it's probably had more use in the last year than the Dolan ever would have, so silver linings and all that! Forgive the terrible photos, feck knows what the camera in my phone (which is usually decent) was trying to focus on!

Yep same. There is only about an inch holding the thing together. It start on the non drive side of the seat tube just above the BB, comes round the back of the seat tube, across the top of the BB on the drive side then under the down tube (where it move away from the weld) before coming back up the other side about an 2 inches up the down tub from the BB.

it's rather new isn't it? have you taken it back etc as frames failing really isn't "fit for purpose" etc.

@itboffin while your bike is clearly a frankin bike, it's also clearly not just a BSO the Single speed gives it away, your FCN is probably around my level 8-9.

I took the pic at the back of the visitor centre at Coed Y Brenin.

And, yes, the gear it's in is 22-30.
  • This is a pic of me in Cheddar Gorge getting caught up in the Wigggle Sportive (by accident) and as you will note I am definitely on my muck covered tri-cross with 25mm Schwalbe Marathons on and the monkey clinging onto my pocket getting a tow up the hill is on slicks and a bloomin Tarmac!

We'd already ridden 45 miles and he'd done about 30 by the time this was taken

Looking at it now actually I'm not sure if he's trying to steal the remains of my chocolate shortcake??
