as a social study, its quite interesting to watch two groups 'try' to merge with each other. Of course they will never be able to, but its fascinating to watch. there are too many clashes for it to ever work, i wonder if any of the staff at Future ever considered this when they put the suggestion about that they should merge the fora?

I doubt it was thought of once, but hey, it makes life a little more interesting.

Should it be fori instead of fora? Being a mountain biker, I'm to thick to know the difference.

    Entertainment? Really?

Think the contraversial-o-meter is giving false readings because it seems pretty much the same to me.

Just the people are Older and I havnt noticed them pluging another forum, Maybe thats the difference.

Come on John. You can see this thread is one big joke. No one really takes this rubbish to heart. You'd hope not anyway.

If you thought I implied something, then why not say so? Instead you made up a false quote which you attributed to me? Why did you do that?

Blacksun -->"Take pity on a thick, illiterate, uneducated mountain biker, please?"

    No.
1500 word essay on the Scottish Enlightenment to be on my desk by Friday morning please.
    In Latin.
Otherwise you'll be on the naughty step for the rest of the day.

Same here (thanks for the popcorn - have a Wurthers :P ). Why is it every time I think of a suitable comeback here, some bugger`s just used it? Is it cos I`m thick, slow on the keyboard, too old, ride a bike with flat bars and no `bouncy` bits on the road (so I can`t be a `roadie`? And what`s with all the grinning smilies - no bloody stamina you young`uns.

There was no forum quotation used hence, not a quotation aimed at you.

I was just separating the text from what you 'implied' from the rest of my sentence. Should I have used italics so you could understand it easier and not be so petty as to nit pick?

Only if one of you roadies gives me a 1500 word essay on the workings of TCP/IP and routing.

It's hardly nitpicking to point out that you have purported to quote me when in fact what you were quoting was your interpretation of what I had said. Do you do this sort of thing often in order to misrepresent what people have actually said?

Of course you're being petty and nitpicking. You're doing it for the sake of the discussion. You're trying to beat my down by attempting to pull apart everything I type, alas, it isn't really going to work.

I explained what I was doing by using '' but you failed to see/understand my point.

No, I'm doing it for the sake of accuracy. You attributed a quote to me that was inaccurate and misleading. Would you be happy if I did the same to you?

The drama eh? haha. Do you think it'd make a good cartoon script or maybe even a tv mini series?
