Just a thought, but should we not make the entry 4 or 5 pounds and then put the change in the bank, rather than asking for a donation? That would build up the funds a wee bit...

won't be out on Saturday, but will do something on Sunday, maybe the Stirling ride. I reckon a 90" for the Kirky 10

Hi Sparky, I think 4 or 5 quid might deter some folks from coming along whereas if we have an optional donation at the end then it might be a fairer way of doing it - especially if some people are only doing the half distance route.

    Matt,

Do you mean the Stirling tri reliability? I was toying with doing this but not sure now as it goes through Glendevon and reckon there could be a fair bit of ice up there still.

Might try and keep it to low level on Sunday

I won't be able to make it out on Saturday but may be able to get down to the Cross on Sunday. Weather looking seriously chilly over the weekend.

Anyone fancy a two bridges run then?

I'm happy to call it a training ride and try and go at a harder pace than usual. As long as people are aware beforehand then I reckon it's not unreasonable to up the pace. Chances are I'll be first dropped anyway but I don't mind

Do you think the 2 bridges should be a low ice risk tomorrow then? I wondered about that - a lot of it's on main roads obviously but I wasn't sure about the smaller road through Culross. The last couple of days have at least been dry though? Hum. haw, etc
Not that I'd be at any sort of training pace anyway
  • Would the two bridges run be Saturday or Sunday?

Got ready to set off at 8 and the snow was very heavy in Livingston :( .
Decided not to go out then, although the sun is now shining and I might get out later...

  • Went out this morning in the snow from Larbert and headed to Linlithgow, Preston Road, Bathgate, Whitburn, Armadale then home via Bike and Ski Clinic.

Waited around 15 minutes at KWM but no arrivals so headed off on my own. Roads were absolutely fine and far less greasy than they have been over the last few months.

    Cheers David

PS. Is the two bridge run tomorrow at pace or a social ride.

I'm easy-oasy about the 2 bridges run - foz might be right about the cobbles in culross but other than that i reckon it should be ok.

I'm up for doing either pace tomorrow - will go with the consensus.

Logging off now but if anyone wants to text or phone me it's

    077 four 88 four 2 seven 8 one.

David, I could swing by Larbert and we could meet the bunch at the BP garage just before the bridge?

    Sparky,

Same in Cumbernauld this morning although it's nice now.

You coming out to play tomorrow?

P.S. thanks for the kind donation of the energy drink for the RadTour - it's brilliant to see the enthusiasm for it from everyone!!

  • Hi guys

Were any of you lot out this afternoon, heading along the road from Caldercruix/ Limerigg to Avonbridge? I passed someone on this road as i was heading home for Caldercruix at about 2:30pm, just wondering if it might have been one of you guys..

Anyway, what an enjoyable ride i had, ended up just cruising for most of it to take in the sights, probably my favourite ride of the winter! :)

    Cheers, Graham

I rode round the two bridges over lunchtime and it was absolutely fine. There was a bit of frozen stuff on the back roads from SQueen to Winchburgh but nothing serious and avoidable of course.

Only managed an hour and a half on the turbo tonight :( I should have took Mrs P's offer of getting out during the day,but decided to spend time with the kids (which was the correct decision  )

Don't look like much cycling shall be done early this week,as the snow is bad in Livingston tonight(I need to reorganise days working from home :? )

Bill, did you manage to get out on the Demo bike??

    Cheers
