any other flat routes i could go around Linlithgow to build my fitness up a bit?

BB, Have a look at the routes that have been added to BIkely, you get to the link from the routes pages on the website:

    http://www.westlothianclarion.co.uk/routes.html

Riding around Kirkliston, Boness, Blackness, Dalmeny, South Queensferry (avoiding the bridge!) Skin Flats, Kincardine etc are generally flat rotes.

Going uphill makes you stronger though!

    Hey Sadiq,

Have you still got the tri-bars?
  • I've got tri bars for sale - Profile Air Strike. They are brilliant.
  • I'll have to have a look. But around £30.

Well you would have yourself a deal there good sir!

P.S. why you getting rid? You get something better or don't fancy TT anymore?

I reckon with those bad boys I'll get well under 32 mins for my next 10 :!:
  • You can have a look and see whether you want them. You can always say no.

You can pop in before the Sunday ride. I am only 5 min from the Cross.

I am selling the clip-ons because I am buying proper TT bars.

What a club!!! Grammar lessons and bike chat!! :D

Anybody thinking about heading out Saturday? Planning a hangover for Sunday so won't be out then.

Indeed Mike, indeed! A cut above your average roadies!

I won't be out on Saturday Mike - it's a Sunday one for me this week.

Tobias, no need to see the bars. As long as they're in good working order I'm happy to agree the deal! I shall bring the dosh on Thursday to the AGM if you want to bring the bars.

Not so sure I like the sound of the proper tri bars - think some people may be taking the club thing a bit too seriously :o:wink:

Must dash - it's my lunch break and i'm TT'ing to the chippy

  • No problem, Grant. Still, you don't have to take them if you don't like what you see.

I am not out on Saturday but am planning ot come along on Sunday (unless the weather is really c...).

I've got some bits and pieces to get rid of that I'll stick on the ads section however I've also got lots of the heavy duty vinyl weights.

If anyone wants them, or some of them, they can have them for free - as long as you're a paid up member of the clarion

If anyone is interested you can post here or PM me and I'll let you know what sizes/weights I've got. (It's those gold coloured York ones). They're good as new, I just don't use them as I'm far too honed and toned as it is

First refusal for the stuff I'm selling for clarion members

    1. 50/34 compact chainset square taper - light use - unbranded
    2. 48/38/28 brand new Suntour unused - sqaure taper
    3. Avid Single Digit V Brakes front and rear - levers and callipers and pads - all unused
    4. Peugeot steel frame, bars, brakes, seatpost, new-ish tape, new cables, downtube shifters
    5. Gipiemme saddle lightweight sub-100 miles use
    6. SRAM 8 speed 12-26 cassette - 300 or so miles useage. (or swap for unwanted used 9 speed block?)

Send me a pm if any interest - it's loose change i'm after

I'll put it up on the ads section on Monday if nobody wants any of it

This time of year, if it's sunny in the morning, it's had clear skies all night and a ground frost is pretty likely. In January it's either A. Icy or B. Blowing a hoolie off the Atlantic. Shiver or drip. That said, I'll try to get out for a while at least.

Grantus - might be interested in an old steel frame as a permanent rig for the trainer if you can bear to see it being so abused. Could you give an idea of size - I'm about 5 11'' but with comedy stumpy wee Scottish legs

About the same size as me Foz.

It doesn't have a rear mech or gear cables or a chainset.

I'd be looking for £15 for the frame and the bits or £20 inc the compact or £25 inc the triple listed above plus you can have the 8 speed cassette thrown in so you'd only need wheels.

If you think that's ok you can pm me - I'd rather see it getting used than sitting in my shed - plus I've been told to get rid of it

Oh, and I'd give you a chain for it as well :D

I don't mind if you want to borrow it for a week or two to see if it suits you for the turbo. If it suits you then you can square me up - if not just give it back, no probs, it's just sitting gathering dust anyway.
