I think I'm going to enter, do you think it's feasible to use the tube from Leyton to Epping, then cycle from there?

As far as I can tell cycles are allowed on the tube (Central Line) from Leyton to Epping. I would cycle there but that'd probably be too much on top of 105 miles.
    <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
The start is in Epping, so that should be ok. Also if you were to cycle from home, that would put 20 miles on to your distance for the day.
I don't know if you can take your bike on the tube. If you cannot, I could give you a lift since I will be driving to the start.
    <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

I won't turn down a lift if you've got space.

    Ok no problem.
I can get two bikes in the car, if we take the front wheels off and put a blanket in between the frames.

Although if you have not registered, you need to do it before the 27 May. As this is when the organisers stop taking entries.

If you have got a place available close to the start, that would be realy great.

I live in Epping and it is less than a 10 min cycle to the high street. Only problem being is that is is uphill all the way, but, sure that this will not be a problem for us.

    Hi Stuart

Caffeine and drinks will be served at my place after we have finished the ride. You are more than welcome, better yet, if you are up for the ride, I have a spare bike that you could use, will be just a matter of changing pedals, saddle, stem etc......, but this will also depend on how tall you are. Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards
    Richard

Yippee, Sunday's forecast has changed from showers to sun. I'll pack the rain jacket just in case.

Well I missed that one, I assume your talking about the cycling plus mag, what did they say.

Re. your earlier post, sorry did not reply earlier. Boy I suffered on that day, the first half was ok, but when I got to the second feed stop 54miles I puked. From then on I could not eat, which made me feel like quiting. So I decided I would quite after reaching the third stop 84miles. When I got to the third stop, since there was 20miles to go, I decided to finish it. A big thanks goes to Simon for sticking with me during the ride, which helped. My time was 6hours 40minuits.

Yeah it was in the little thing they picking up the main things in the the forum threads. It was saying that the home counties dominate the ride section - Said Sonicred007 asked {the topic for this thread} and they put the answer was clearly yes.

On the Essex ride - Wow! Was it something you ate? Or were you pushing yourself too much too early... either way, well done! Amazing time too

    Thanks

I am so unfit now. I wasn't nearly fit when I went out with you a couple of times and now with all this time off after the crash, gonna need to get out on my own a few times over the next few weeks - I'm signed up for the Wessex 100 in September

Thankfully got my MRI scan back and it's no worse than it was before the crash

Will be doing 20 mile loops at most for the next few weeks I reckon

    Thanks

What new bike will you be getting, will it be the same as the last?

Wessex 100 sounds interesting is that miles or kilometer's?

If your interested, I understand there is a weekly Sunday ride that starts from Walthamstow town hall 9am. Apparently its run by Leavalley CC. I waqs chatting to another cyclist in High Beech who regularly rides with them, and quoted av speeds of 15 - 17mph. He said their a nice group. Sorry, cant remember weather I told you about this earlier.

    Hello Jonathan, Stuart,

I didn't see your earlier post (about the Essex ride) either. Hope your back in working order. How did it go with the legal stuff? And did you get a new bike, or could the old one be salvaged?

I've been going out on Saturday mornings, since I'm usually busy on Sundays nowadays. If you fancy taking an easy ride one Saturday morning Stuart, we can do the 30 mile route and use it to build your strength up again, let me know.

Hope you recovered from the other week Jonathan, I burnt my arms and head - should have re-applied the suncream. If I get a Sunday free I'll be out to join you.

Also, I don't know if you guys are going down to the Rapha nocturne thing next Saturday, it looks like it's going to be entertaining, I'll be going down with my wife and maybe a few other friends. If you fancy it let me know.
