Weather looks good for a Sunday ride, no rain, but there will be a northerly wind 16 - 22 mph. Great going out[:D] hard coming back. [:(]

Given it looks like you and me so far, I'm happy with a 9am start. Is the Odeon on Woodford Road - if so, that's a prettey obvious place to meet
Stuart
Thanks

Yep. The directions on the odeon website say:
"The Odeon is a five minute walk from South Woodford Tube Station. Situated next to The George Public House on the junction between George Lane and the High Road."
See you at 9

Thanks to Simon and Jonathan for being patient with this tired cyclist. Although managed to complete it.
I think Jonathan's shorter loop will be welcomed next time.
Hopefully going out again in two weeks time
Thanks

I think it was close to 4 hours, including a break or two - I asked for the first and Simon was unlucky enough to get a puncture. Although I was glad of the rest.
I think the other two would have been much quicker without me.
So, a good beginners rate from my behalf. Like I said earlier, it was little far for a first run out for me - it was my shout, so lessons learnt. I bit off more than I could chew!
I'm sure I can get fitter
Weather was great - sunshine all the way!
Thanks

well done Stuart sounds like a great effort.
personally i'm shattered after the ride with WhiteWebbs guys - i thought it would be a good idea to cycle to the start from Waltham Abbey so that added 10 miles each way (i regretted the decision all the way back!!!)
ended up riding 66 miles (as far as i've ever been before), av.16mph, 1200m of climbing! (i was dropped on most hills but the guys were good at waiting at junctions for me to catch up)
will be up for a C+ ride in the near future though

Don't get me wrong, Jonathan and Simon weren't speeding off from me, and they waited for me on numerous occasions. I really enjoyed it!
It was just in the end I was spent... I can't imagine how long they waited patiently for me on the Epping Road. But glad they did because Jonathan's tea at High Beach was an excellent choice and for someone who lives not far from there, an excellent find for me too.
With the clear spring day, the cafe area was well busy and buzzing. What a great place!
Thanks

We are planning something similar in the future, hopefully in a couple of weeks (perhaps a bit shorter route). It was great to get out and to meet Jonathon and Stuart, I'm looking forward to next time.Where\'s me jumper?0

How about this route, has a few hills and some nice straight sections. 35 miles

Jonathan that Abridge Road to Ongar is not normally much fun - the roads above it are much quieter and you can get a great loop out that way - Toot Hill etc

Stuart,
I passed you as you were halfway between North Weald and Matching green, I was all US postalled up! With a black gillet on. I would of come out with you, but I had to get out a bit earlier, due to my son's birthday. Let me know when you are out again.

I may be able to join you in the morning. My only difficulty is that I am waiting on a delivery and fitting of a front and back door... got a wedding later that day too - so Sunday is out.
I should know if it's being delivered tomorrow or Wednesday.
Thanks
