Sounds fantastic! Good luck to you all, I'm sure you'll all do it, especially with bib shorts like those, Mr Hippo.

I used to weigh 18 stone, with a 44 inch waist and something like a 54" chest so I know what its like.

Just in case, anyone contacts me to find out where to buy the wide load bib shorts, all I can say is "Isn't Adobe PhotoShop wonderful!"

what we all need to remember is losing 1 lb a week works out to be just over 3 stone in a year, so there is no need to go crazy.
after i lose atleast 3 stone by 2008 who is brave enough to join me on one of the long distant charity bike rides which are mentioned in cycling plus

The weight will come off but not overnight. Just take it easy and enjoy the cycling!
I went on the road for the first time in a while, most of my cycling this year has been done on the I-Magic. I left it a bit late and only left home at 7am - 30 minutes earlier at first light would have made all the difference with the Bangkok traffic! Had a nice 10 mile potter with the mountain bike and felt great.
There was a rare sighting of a pink hippo in Bangkok today and my wife was fortunate enough to capture its image - http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a248/ ... ppo003.jpg
Anyone else care to share their photos?

I really should've signed up for this last Saturday. If I remember to weigh myself this Saturday, is it too late to join? I'll be somewhere around 22.5 stone, I think.

at the risk of sounding a bit naff,

Consistency is the key, I have been managing my weight this year for sport and have come down by 14kg in 6 months.

things that i found helped, were keeping a food diary and a training diary, it lets you know exactly what you put in and what goes out, the difference is fat burned or gained.

Its very doable, and you'll feel so much better for it, I have!

Ok, I'll try and make sure I remember to weigh on Saturday and will let you know what I come out as. Saturday's always been my weigh day previously, so makes sense to continue with it.

  • I don't know, you start a healthy eating program on Saturday and then someone comes along and tells you you have to stuff your face with pancakes on Tuesday [:0]. At least it shamed me into getting on the exercise bike last night. Can't let the side down. Only ate 4 small ones though [:I].

I'm sure someone will come along and explain that I would need to do 1 1/2 hours on the bike to burn them off. I must have burned some off cooking them though [:o)].

  • Did you toss them a lot?
  • Oh yes!

However I fear even if I made 200 in an iron pan I still wouldn't have burned off what I ate.

Damn the efficient human digestive system [;)].

Not good, had a bit of a down week which has led to much comfort food. God I sounded like a woman then !!

Also my scales were not working properly, so my challenge really starts with the new (accurate) scales this week.

On the healthy eating front it's going pretty well. on the cycling front really badly. I havent been out once this week and wont get out this weekend either due to being too busy.
