pain is merely weakness leaving the bodyhi my name is adam... and i have a problem with posting on cycling forums.0 -
demongridner, Is this serious? or shoudl I say This is serious. Never ride a turbo for too long if this is happening as you are not doing yourself any favours.
I used to get the same as a youngster riding the old I.L.E.A supplied bikes down at Herne Hill with those awful plastic saddles. Try to avoid wearing lycra afterwards.BERNIN RUBBER0 -
Thanks bern for allowing my LBS to order a bike from yourselves (the condor pista), very much appreciated.
But they cant get to speak to Grant to complete the order!Mañana0 -
If they ask for James he can re-direct them to someone at the warehouse who can deal with it for themBERNIN RUBBER0

Bern,
I saw a couple of fixies downstairs in the shop with some fantastic looking/witty decals on Wednesday eve - Just blocked out "XxxxxxXxxxx" rather than the full brand name - Is that a new look, or just some pre-finishing?0 -
Pistonbrew, Potenza dropouts flying over from states right now. the tubes are cut and ready for building. they will get priority as soon as they arrive. I will be in Italy in 3 or so weeks time and I expect them to ready around this time.
JW, there is a track racing model like this, but I think the one you saw is a new project we are working on for next year hopefully. We are happy with the idea, but just need to find someone who can build it well enough for us at a price that will be suitable for all. There are usually many pre-production samples, some of which never make it. I sometimes send them to the shop to get a reaction.BERNIN RUBBER0 -
Well, the black one with red decals looked superb. Was there something unusual with the forks?
Something I keep forgetting to ask - So the Deda tubes are drawn in Italy - Are they actually assembled there too? Must be tough when everything else is assembled in Taiwan/China?
I once used to work in the manufacturing sector, and if my memory serves me correctly, the cost of fabricating a computer case in the UK was the same price as having one delivered to your doorstep from China.... Complete with power supply installed! (which is probably why I don't work in manufacturing any more[;)]).
Do the big manufacturers have dedicated single sources overseas, or does everyone shop around?
In fact, are the big manufacturers specifying their own designs, or is just a badge engineering facility?
What's the future holding with regard to finite-element stress analysis in frame design (I notice Lemonde make a point of mentioning it).0 -
The fork design is based on a traditional track racing style with a flat crown and round blades. We also have a straight road fork as a possible option which would be better for road.
The Deda steel is drawn in Italy and the frames are made there also. It is tough when most production is now in the far east. It is tempting to go this way also, but prices are not significantly cheaper apart from China. We will continue to produce in Europe where we can. I can get on a flight to Italy in the morning, check on production and still be home for tea.
I can't say for all big manufacturers, but I believe some do and some don't. It can depend on materials as not all manufactures build with all metals.BERNIN RUBBER0 -
Bern - thats great news that you can pop over to Italy and be home in time for tea. Can you pick up my fratello frame whilst your at it ! - waiting since early October now - do they need a kick in the a**e ?!
What I would really like (more realistically) is to be able to pick it up in time for my Birthday on Dec 3.my route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5753300 -

Hi Bern.
When ever I ride my turbo, my bits go a bit numb. Thing is when I get finish riding and get off the bike, i have a raging hard-on. What is the reason for this? and how can I prevent it in future?

Dear Demongrider
Try easing off on the deep heat, and make sure you turn the porn channel off before getting on your turbo.
Hope this helps0 -
Richard Brown,
I have to go over regularly as what they say is in production is not always the case so I have to make sure sometimes.
I hope so as they should be on the way to us this week.BERNIN RUBBER0 -
Bern can you tell me if the Fondo comes in off the peg sizing or is a custom option available? And are the new forks in stock now? Thanks.

Stock sizes, but custom is available. Forks should be arriving next week in time for fratellos.BERNIN RUBBER0

bern - another q. regarding the new potenza. is it too late in the build to ask for no rear brake cable brazeons (or a drilled bridge)? not the end of the world if it is too late, but the thought has just occurred to me this morning - i never thought to ask about it when i specced the bike.
cheers

Bern
I'm sure that I saw somewhere that Condor are doing a steel fixed/singlespeed that will take mudguards but for the life of me I can't find the details including looking at your website and searching on here!
It's probably me but I'd greatly appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction.
Many thanks

It is called the Tempo. It is an audax version of the Pista model. In production now. Due by Christmas, fingers crossed.BERNIN RUBBER0

Your colleague said you used Humbrol for touch ups - I'd like to know the matches you use. I assume you have a colour chart? I'd like to touch up some cable rub.

Hi Bern
What news on the Fratello ? my old Ridgeback is starting to squeak !my route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5753300 -
HI Richard,
Hopefully one of the guys in the shop should have passed on the info to you. This is the first chance I have managed to get to the p.c. today.BERNIN RUBBER0 -
Yes they have, thanks for the info and I understand the difficulties with the delivery dates. No problem I can hang on.my route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5753300

Finally built up my Fratello 5 weeks after buying the frame+forks. I have a carbon post in it, but it keeps slipping a small amount during each ride (very annoying). Can anyone suggest a solution to this? I have heard suggestions of hairspray and sanding the post rough, but I'm unsure whether this will affect the carbon structurally.
Thanks
