They don't have very well developed pork markets over there.

Strange, because Labour are quite good at telling porkies.

Just had a quick look at the front page of the Telegraph website, and I counted no less than 14 pieces attacking Labour. It's going to be a Stevothon on this thread if he's going to quote each one.
Easier if you just go to their website and turn off Javascript. I'm sure you're much more interested in the £1,105 dress Mrs Starmer borrowed for the Labour conference than the £bn's spaffed away through incompetence or corruption, the £40m Sunak spent on private helicopters, or the £500k Truss spent on a return charter flight to Australia. It might have been worth it if she'd stayed there and never came back.

Either way, not grounded in reality.

Maybe Labour should try not making quite so many stupid/ethically dubious decisions and crap policy announcements, then those nasty right wing media outlets wouldn't have so much to write about.

Also thanks for prompting me to look, as another underpaid, hard done by group of workers demands a 15% pay rise "to match settlements secured by other public sector unions".
As I've said before, unions can smell weakness and they will all want what the others have been given.

You haven't done the one about them closing pubs early yet.

I'm having problems keeping up with the sheer volume of shyte that Labour are coming out with.

The unions' intentions are very real.

Just to save you the effort, the pubs one is shyte put out by the RW press with no basis is reality.
Me, I'm outraged that Mrs Starmer borrowed a dress.

It's a bit more than that, but I'm sure you missed that article...
"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
And the party itself is hardly squeaky clean...
Brian, I'm wondering what you might say if the Tories had received a £4m donation from a Cayman based hedge fund just after the GE was called?
"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]1 -
It doesn't look good for any party. Not defending it, but I don't remember non-stop stories in the Telegraph about donations to the Tories. Maybe I just overlooked them.

I'm sure you could have got the stories about the Tories from other sources, but the point that is that Labour are no different.

As I say, I'm not arguing against that. It's not a good look for politicians.

I cannot believe you are taking this utter bollox seriously.

The Bar Council is a regulator, not a union. Nice try.

nowhere near as good as the tory brexiters

I'm just showing you what was reported. Make of it what you will, but some of us can remember what an utter shit show it was when the unions last got their wish. Let's call it a cautionary tale of leftiebollox.
And right on cue, here is Labour moving towards giving them the chance:

Call them what you like, they are asking for a 15% pay hike based on what the unions have got. So your point is what?
"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Give them a chance, they've only just got started.

Like that bollox Guardian article Brian posted the other day it's disingenuous nonsense. RMT fell out with Labour years ago. Lynch doesn't even speak for all train drivers. He does like to overstate his influence, though.

Mr Townend might be. The Bar Council isn't according to their press releases. Barristers aren't public employees.

Have the relevant barrister's fees gone up since the last government settled strike action with a 15% rise in fees in 2022?

bloody marxists!

You tell me. I'm making the point that their request is being driven by what others have been given - the 'domino effect' of higher pay from Labour's capitulation to the unions is spreading quickly: it all adds up and needs to be paid for somehow.
"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
It's still a risk, but as with quite a few things you're just choosing to ignore the risk altogether.

Sorry, it was a genuine question. I don't know the answer, but it's surely relevant to whether I should be feeling outrage.
