I donn't read every single post...
So did you give him the benefit of the doubt when you covered it?

Did you?
Not on this thread or the Labour in power thread.......

Maybe he could post a link rather than assuming that we have time to read everything?

Perhaps if you didn't just assume that everyone else is a raging communist...

I suppose I should have added a smilie. And I do say centre leftie, there aren't that many stupid enough to be full on commies 🙂

Anyway, we're agreed that civil service positions or other perks as favours for party donors is a really bad idea. The only reward for donating to a party should be that that party is fractionally more likely to mount a successful election campaign.

Neatly summing up how the system is corrupt.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

What's worse is anyone who's ever used that station on a weekday evening already knows what he said to the press.
It IS dangerous, and it's the most disgraceful station there is.
There's a whole genre of tiktoks on the topic of surviving the station as it's so awful.

Shitty thing to do, right enough. Kudos to Gareth Dennis although that will be of little condolence.

Interesting little scandal seems to have Starmer on the defensive...

pretty stupid of him, he really should know/behave better, though of course this is dwarfed by johnson's appetite for large bungs
they're all on the take, it's built into the system
way past the time for parliamentary rules to mirror modern business ethics: no gifts allowed, none, then it's clear and violators must be prosecuted for bribery/accepting bribes

It really is odd. How are politicians so bad at recognising how this sort of thing looks? They are generally quite wealthy so why take stupid gifts they could buy for themselves?

You'd think that after his 'moral high horse' victory speech he'd be pretty aware of anything that might cause something like this, especially so soon after taking power.

I have never had a work acquaintance offer to buy a family member any clothes. I'd think it a bit odd.

Whilst your industry is not regulated, the bribery act still applies
