    You had a bathroom in the 60’s!? You posh git. We had to use a tin bath till 1982. Nighttime wash was a bowl of warm water on a chair in front of the calor gas. And don’t talk to me about using the outside toilet in winter!

    I was a bit young to remember it myself but I saw some pics from the late 60s with the infamous avocado bathroom suite.

    Our first house had a chocolate brown sink in the bathroom. The toilet was white but had been painted brown on the outside.

    Veg pasta. Saute quartered button mushrooms and half and onion, add shredded cooked savoy cabbage and chopped tenderstem broccoli and cook for 3mins. Season, add lemon juice, pasta cooking water and creme fraiche and reduce. Finish with parmesan, stilton and flat parsley and stir through cooked penne pasta.

    Served with a very good Twill Cellars chardonnay.

    You can’t go from double scotch egg to fish and steamed veg in one go. The shock will be too much, you might drop dead 🤷‍♂️

    Steeped some thin slices of left over Roast Beef in red wine for 3 hours.

    Slapped it on toasted bread with red onions and BBQ sauce. That was lunch.

    Tonight it's baked Tilapia.

    Last night. Pork belly marinaded in a sweet, Smokey glaze, deluxe spring onion mash and tender stems finished the pan with butter, garlic and a little balsamic reduction.

    Yesterday was Sea bass, red cabbage, new pots., and green beans,

    Tonight was Chicken, mushroom and Pak Choi noodle soup with lots of ginger and garlic. That'll keep the locals at bay.

    Got home in a foul mood. 2 hours to travel 7miles by car. Asked Missus if she wouldn’t mind cooking the chicken as I was stuck in traffic. Home to find she’d only cooked for kids, grrr.

    dinner a grumpy jacket potato, scrambled egg and beans.
