  • Generally agree with you mud, just don't think you can get away with "I would never..." type statements about kids when you don't have any.

i can say i'd never kill someone, but you never know...

seriously, i can say i'd never abuse a dog even though i've never owned one. do you think i can't say that?
  • yup, I think you can't. Not if you don't know how looking after a dog is going to make you feel. or how you might feel after it craps on your face as you lie in bed, for the 5th time that week.

That's pretty harsh and self-righteous stuff coming from you apcmtb.
How can you be sure you would not be that careless? That's the thing about carelessness, it just happens, people don't set out to be careless.<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">

Frankie you don't know me, so you don't know what kind of parent I am, all I am saying is that I know I would never but either of my children in this sort of situation, never have done, never will do, so if thats self righteous then so be it, I make my opinion on this whole saga based on what my morals/beliefs are as a parent, some will agree some disagree, fair do's, their call.

Carelessness needs a degree of neglect (leaving your child alone is being careless], accidents happen [they didn't leave her on her own by accident], carelessness is something different

  • Fair point, there is a difference between accidents and carelessness, I think we can all be careless at times. I reckon what those folks did was at an extreme end of a continuum. Difficult to say how far along that line you would or wouldn't go, given certain circumstances

I'll agree with that Frankie, we can to varying degrees be careless sometimes but any decent parent would make sure this was on something much much much much much much much less than your children.
