Ineos rarely do announcements about renewals, they just quietly extend contracts.

They aren't being linked with many riders either, so I'd imagine next year's line-up will be broadly similar to this year's. I think if they can hold on to Carlos Rodriguez then they'll consider they've done well.
  • They are waiting to announce Remco :)

Perhaps they’re waiting for Rodriguez to make his mind up…..

Maybe once they’ve bought Remco they can’t afford anyone else.

They also tend to announce signings once the season is over. Foss and Verona are the only two I've heard them linked to.

I think Daniel Friebe said the Foss signing was definitely not happening on the Cycling Podcast last week.

Now confirmed (was being discussed in the Sh*t Small Races thread earlier).

Bit of an Irish thing going on at EF. They have also signed Archie Ryan who, if he can stay injury free, is an equally exciting prospect.

Not much news from Ineos thus far.

They've only got 15 riders contracted for 2024 according to Pro Cycling Stats
Yes, they seem to be running the team down. Economy drive or having to lay off riders to pay Remco's massive transfer fee?

Have to say, I am surprised he has gone, wonder what his motivations or reasons were.
I hope he excels, and really fulfills his potential - he could well be a GC contender again with the right support, but imho his main strengths will be in one week races.

I struggle to see the positives in moving to Lidl Trek for someone interested in GC.

Sad to see Tao go, other than the Giro he won, this was probably his best year with the team.

Going to be really interesting to see who stays and who's coming in.

To my mind he is looking to be their stand out GC contender - most of their other riders who could have been GC contenders, are nearing the end of their careers, unless there is anyone really key I have forgotten.

Maybe he just fancied a bit of a change, and especially whilst he is still young enough to command a decent salary.

Agreed - if they genuinely sign no one of real distinction, it will be an even more anonymous season next year, or they will have to comprehensively change their focus.
They need a real big hitter, and currently they have none - or none who are fighting fit and in form at any rate.

Yep fair play - but even so, there are 3 GT's per year, and multiple one week races, so I can't see how he won't be given ample opportunities.

  • Are we still banging the Skjelmose as GT GC rider drum ?

Simon Spillak used to do well in Swiss 1 week stage races but never got anywhere near in a GT

He's only done two, so possibly a bit early to write him off.

He'll be 23 next month, so he's past it really

He's just won his first wt week long stage race and his record stacks up pretty well against Geoghegan Hart at the same age.

Is this a useful comparison? At the same age, Jonas Vingegaard had won almost nothing.

If the argument is that he can't progress from here, then that's also a useful comparison.

Just don't know, do we? But he's still on the up.

Apparently Contador has been on Eurosport saying it's an open secret than Evenepoel is going to Ineos next sesson

Find it super hard to believe that Lefevere will just take that lying down. Didn't they just extend the contract a few months ago?

Maybe Ineos will just buy the entire team and merge them.

Lefevere is 68. He may have one eye on retirement. He has two big assets to sell to get a little retirement bonus: Evenepoel's registration and a World Tour licence.

This is the very logical step. Brailsford has forcefully denied it. Well technically denied there have been talks.

It’d be cheaper than a transfer fee.

This would also suggest a merger is more likely than just a signing
