I wonder what it will take for Ineos to have a DT.....

    Jakobsen to DSM apparently.

Interesting. Does this mean they are actually going all in for GC?
Well they do still have Merlier.

    Such a well-worn trope now.

Make your name at Quick Step - go get a pay day somewhere else and win a quarter as much.

(Though nowadays Alepcin have QS' number)

Although if QS are throwing everything behind Evenepoel as a GC rider for the tour he'll get far fewer opportunities.

As in JB to JV, or "and according to JB" ?

There's some uncertainty about the future of Quick Step. Lefevre and Balaka are looking to sell. Some sensible people speculate that the sale will be easier if they offload Evenepoel to Ineos. No new contracts are being signed at the moment.

I've always wondered why Specialized don't have their own road team, like Trek do and have their own 'Factory' team with a title sponsor.

As JB himself said on an episode of JB2, he is banned for life!

They like to hedge their bets across the peloton I think.

According to Dan Benson, James Knox is close to signing a new contract and I'm sure there was someone else. Cattaneo? Luke Lamperti signed, Cavagna leaving.

If we're going to include transfer of ownership in this thread, can anyone explain where the value lies in Lefevre's team?

I understand that there's a maybe a bus or 2 and possibly a service course building (although these maybe rented or leased).

There's also immediate access to the world tour which I can understand holds some value, but beyond that you've just got a stack of contract liabilities and an uphill battle to keep sponsors onboard.

Wow really, that would keep him there until he's 39, fair play to the lad.

Rowe is only 33, probably got at least 3 years left in him in the role he fulfills.

Someone will need awfully large pockets full of money to get him away from Lefevre, not to mention his salary.

He should go to Ineos if true. Doubt it though. He won the Vuelta and probably would have won the Giro if not for Covid. Don't see how that is proof positive the team isn't able to support him in any and all Tour ambitions.

Jordi Meeus and Max Kanter rumoured to be on their way to Astana to form part of a leadout train for Cav. Putting to one side any doubts that Cav may rescind his retirement, Meeus would be particularly surprising as I believe he is contracted to Bora for 2024.
