Namur provides the best all round test of a CX rider, a fabulous course.

My only one slight disappointment was no medals for GB, though there were some promising rides from the Juniors/U23s.

Another weekend, and another World Cup; this time in the Safari Park of Beekse Bergen, Netherlands.
Puck Pieterse has filmed the course on her Go Pro, and it's not the most interesting of course; fast, dry & flat.....with some sand sections.

I wouldn't be against either Sweeck or Van Empel.....

    ***Spoiler alert***

Women's race result was a turn up for the books.
Impressive, despite nearly getting caught in the last few metres Androoij attacked and held that gap for far longer than I expected. That would do wonders for her confidence and might just propel her into the mix.
I wonder if the fast course was in her favour and despite 'not the most interesting', both men's and women's races were good entertainment.
    Good to see Brand back.

I think she's going to be another Brand type rider; powerful but not as skillful as the other two, but will get some decent wins/ results when the circumstances allow.

Sweeck looking impressively strong in the mud and sand yesterday. Pidcock off the pace unsurprisingly and miffed to fall off in front of the camera.

It was his first race since the MTB Worlds in late August, he always starts steadily......He'll eventually get up to speed.

Brilliant racing. Was expecting a mistake from Vanthourehout towards the end but fair play. Pidcock was phenomenal.

A technical masterclass from Puck, on another level to the others; and at last her first Elite World Cup win.

And a bad start for whatever reason, has probably cost Pidcock the race; but an excellent result, and another good ride from Vantourenhout in those conditions.

Brilliant races. Pidcock went from last to 2nd. What a ride. Brand seemed to get more and more confident as the race went on - seemed to be enjoying herself.
Just caught up on this as I was away yesterday attending the Scottish CX series.
A good day out. The highs of the day was the vegetable Samosa's and local boy Lewis Martin got barrier tape caught in his rear wheel/rear mech and had to stop after taking a huge lead within 2 laps and then ended up 2nd after having to stop for what seemed to be an inordinate period of time. It was a helluva effort.
Whilst I was there, I caught up with @alan_a who avoided the penal system, escaping on a fake T-rex passport. He gave me the low down on being arrested for going walk about on course at the Worlds in Woollywooliegong. Apparently, he was wearing a pink Tutu. I mean ffs; pink? I though blue was more his colour.

Caught up now, fell asleep on sofa last night while watching the men's. Good race. Pidders is coming on to form.

Was @alan_a also wearing a dinosaur costume or am I getting confused? Memories... Midnight, not a sound from the pavement

Has Pidcock said what the issue was at the start? I'm guessing chain issue

I think it was his gears jamming. Apparently he broke his shoe when he crashed on the cobbles, which hindered his running.

Alvarado did everything she could in the last lap of Kortrijk to avoid taking Vos to the line. Nothing worked, inevitable sprint loss to the boss. Betsema 3rd.

Anna Kay got 6th or 7th, Zoe took 10th

Not a hard enough course to drop Vos; she's the master on these courses, and with the Worlds at Hoogerheide, you wouldn't bet against her winning again. On the harder courses she's no longer as good, and even pulled out of racing Overijse last week.

You could try velonews I think it’s free to look at. A lot of the others cycling weekly, cycling news and sticky bottle only allow you to view so many stories a month then you have to pay. There is an American website cyclocrossnews I think but it’s usually a few days behind what happening these days.

Clarification Q: is that WvA starts on Antwerp on 4/12? Thought MvdP is racing tomorrow in Hulst?

Pidders takes his first win in the jersey.

I thought the winning move where going through the planks, he shouldered the bike ran further than the others and got a gap that they couldn’t close.
It looked like he caught them by surprise. However his start was terrible, starting on the front row to end up about 20th plus by the second corner wasn’t good. But it didn’t seem to effect him though.

Cyclocross 24 has results, and rankings. But I'm afraid, you'll have to look on the usual cycling websites which still prioritise Road even during the off season. Probably more a reflection on the fact that CX is quite niche.
I often go on Wielerflits and google will translate for you....
