I think a few sports jumped too soon into cancelling thinking it would be expected of them but then official guidance came out basically saying do what you think is right and carry on if you want. Rugby in Wales was cancelled so I was surprised when I heard yesterday's Gloucester v Wasps match had gone ahead. I think it comes down to everyone panicking that they will be criticised and 'cancelled' if they behave normally.

I think even the flag shaggers are getting annoyed with the saturation coverage that is ignoring what else is happening in the world.

It amazes me the amount of money that people are prepared to more or less lietrally throw on the street. The average bunch of flowers being laid must be about £10-20 and I can't imagine the cuddly Paddingtons are cheap. So much for the 'cost of living crisis'. Add in people travelling specifically just to be there. They are probably the same people who'll be saying they have to make a decision between heating and eating next week.

I dunno. The no 1 most read story on the bbc site for most of yesterday was about who was going to look after the corgis.

    You mean this flag?

As of now the company I work for has made no announcement about next Monday.
I read that as an optional holiday that comes out of allowance. Some sanity prevails.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Can somebody explain the Paddington Bear significance to the Queen?

    Really?
Did you not see anything about her jubilee a couple of months ago?

But no-one is leaving anything to do with James Bond?

She only had tea with Paddington, James did a tandem parachute jump with her :)

Not quite sure why when Andrew got a heckle from the crowd, the rest of the crowd responded with god save the king.

Come on guys, the lad's a nonce and even the new King thinks he's better off out of all of it.

Also not entirely sure why the police are arresting *and charging* protesters at the event.

Christ, just section a bit off for them. It's a democracy. Good way for the King to be reminded who he's beholden to (hint, not the fictional deity in the sky).

It's a bit weird isn't it? She loved horses and almost nothing else for her entire life, then does one minute with Paddington and all of a sudden it's all Paddington.

Kudos to the bear, he's played a blinder.

If he was in prison he'd just be allowed to attend the funeral. He's lucky he's there at all.

No must admit I've managed to avoid this too - well until the last few days anyway when I've seen some pictures of Paddington with Elizabeth.

What are they charging them with?

No legal expert but they should charge him for whatever the law is around having sex with a trafficked minor - of which he is aware and rape.

Should get it all out in the open. If he’s innocent, let’s hear it.

Reality is everyone else involved in the ring is being found guilty but he’s not even being charged (long after he’s spent £12m in damages and he’s no longer allowed to deny he didn’t rape the victim) and we all know why.

That's pretty impressive. Even in my TV-less state of bah-humbug-and-hermitude I picked that one up.

I think they included swear words which you're not allowed to do. Presumably they did it deliberately in order to get arrested.

I picked up it was a thing and now I know it is something to do with the Jubilee but everybody is being coy as to what.

for instance I get the James Bond references but have no idea what part Paddington played in her Jubilee
