Livening it up by treating it as a BMX park.

Short and ugly. Seems a bit pointless.

The advantage of an ugly prologue over an ugly TT is that at least it's over quickly. Good ride by Hayter though.

    That was a terrible course.
Vuelta a Asturias this weekend, Bike Exchange are going for Giro prep apparently. Unfortunately no coverage.

There is live coverage, but obviously it will be in Spanish. I watched it the year Carapaz won.
Not sure if the media player will be compatible, but it's from these guys.

I see Simon Yates is down to ride, but Quintana is still out of action, following his tumbles in Turkey.

Proper interesting climb up to the finish today, steeper than I expected over the last km or so. Should be a good battle to get into it and probably somebody losing time in a split peloton.

Hayter doing his usual, riding at the back, gets involved in a big crash.
Looks as if he’s out. Izagirre and Uran also down.

They'd been saying for about an hour on commentary that he should have been further forward with his team.

Great finish today, when Dennis' legs were done, they were done.

Ethan Hayter finished dead last, with de Plus and Rivera leading him home.

Edoard Prades comes across the line in the Tor of Hellas celebrates by throwing his arms in the air. thinking he’s won only for his saddle to snap off. When he’s helped up off the floor, he’s informed he’s come second.

That’s going to improve the race highlights on GCN/Eurosport at 10pm.

Hayter needs to stop hanging about the back of the Peloton. G said he really doesn't like fighting for position at the front.

I always assumed anyone reading this had access to the Internet :)

If it would help, I'll post results as well as analysis.

Even worse the highlights appear to be a snooker match with John Higgins.

That climb was pretty brutal. Rohan really wanted to win that cheese.

The nature of live sport, blah, blah and only available with ads off E1.
Anyhow, there's supposed to be a second chance at 9-15am this morning.

I watched a clip of that about 10 times with any commentary and couldn’t work out what happened and why the back of his bike seemed to suddenly disappear.

Well just watched the highlights of the Hellas tour. I can’t imagine the riders were too impressed with it. Scary just watching, park cars everywhere, motor bikes taking the winner down the wrong side of a pedestrian crossing so he has zig zag through the pedestrians. Then the race referee blocking him.almost on the finishing line.

Crazy last few km. Just as well he was solo and so far clear, could have been very awkward. The cars stopping right in front of him about 100m from the finish was the icing on the cake.

And then Prades almost getting one of those viz clagg-gone devices over the finishing line by celebrating his second place.

    Just saw this:
Geraint T got a 20 second penalty for taking a bottle where he wasn’t supposed to.

Very strong leadout from Sheffield burying himself from about 1km to go and Hayter sprints from 250m out and holds on from Aberasturi and Gaviria.

Hayter worked out how to ride in the bunch, and wins a long sprint from Gaviria.
    Monster lead out by Sheffield

Is Vlasov going to replace Sam Bennett as Bora’s sprinter at the Tour?

AvV broke her wrist yesterday on a training ride (on mountain bike by the looks of it). Had surgery on it. Different wrist to the one she broke in the Giro in 2020. Will miss the Spanish races in May. Shouldn’t impact Giro and TdF in July.

I watched the live coverage on Asturias TV.
Simon is in a bit of a no win situation here as he is so much the favourite.
Going through some beautiful areas tomorrow
