82 kms to go and Pinot is having another crack.
In a group of 15 that have 50 seconds as they arrive at the foot of the Bannberg.

Really weak coverage. 2 minutes of the break failing to form, then live coverage with 43km to go.

    Horrible weather.

The problem with climbing the easier side of the Bannberg is they next have to descend the steep side in the wet.

Squeaky bum time as Pinot lets de La Cruz ride away….

Weather is pretty appalling . Don't think anyone wants to risk it

Hopefully Bardet will make this interesting today.

Bardet only does anything on his training roads. Its a myth that he's exciting.

This road is horrible, all those joints that seemed designed specifically to catch a bike wheel. Pinot going for it but can't get a gap.

    Can't shake him

Has a decent gap now but looks out on his feet.

Bastard of a climb this one. Very nicely placed.
  • He'll be caught on the descent, I think.

Looks tougher than the profile was suggesting, absolutely vicious.

For some reason I didn't realise Porte was still at Ineos.

I think Porte has forgotten he rides for Ineos too.

What's he doing? Why has he gone back? 😖

    Only one winner there.
Pinot has a kick, de La Cruz doesn’t

Hatch has graduated from announcing everything in duplicate to doing it in triplicate.

Nice win for Pinot, not sure why de la Cruz left it for an uphill sprint but probably had nothing left.

Was real post Froome Classic Ineos today, Porte drove it, dropped his team mates then didn't follow attack.

Now if Bardet can take the GC, it's like stepping into a french time machine

In praise of the TV coverage - if that stage had been in the Giro d'Italia, we'd have seen nothing until the finishing line.
