It is a bloody shame the cost of electric has sky rocketed now, who would have predicted that?

I still keep thinking Cern will discover cheap abundant electricity with their Bosons n tangs.

They will, but might be too late for some of us. I think the message is that we shouldn't be putting all our eggs in one basket on the car propulsion front.
I think the long term solution that they should be pushing is self charging hybrids and I do not know why the govt. is so intent on pushing electric vehicle ownership and the legislation due to kick in in 2030 when there is an obvious shortfall in infrastructure.

If legislation dictated that an electric or hybrid car used only electricity below 30 mph to keep urban pollution to a minimum, then you tick a large environmental box,
Also, hybrids require far less batteries as we know that the production of electric cars is far more environmentally damaging than current production of ICE vehicles.
    Hybrids? Not a bad idea...

Not exactly what I’d call a ‘looker’. But hey, if you’re inside driving it having fun, who cares!

Incredible it's a legal road car. I thought the Senna was about as extreme as you could get, ignoring kit cars.

It's good to see Aston Martin have a good start to F1 as well. Mercedes engines.

Yup, the Senna is extreme, as in extremely ugly. It upsets me that it carries the Senna name. Just an abomination. It’s truly awful. Good job most will be kept tucked away in owners garages never to blight our roads again.

Don't suppose anyone can recommend a good bike carrying car, auto, under say £12k. Reliability>driving pleasure (driving is a chore)

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Or is this not that sort of thread? Maybe more like the old "Big girls..." thread, but for cars...

And the Octavia estate has a fold away tow hitch. Well mine, SE Tech does. Handy.

This is the updated cheapo Halfords one I got... absolutely solid as a rock. Needs a spanner to put it on/take it off, but no fancy mechanism to worry about. Also no worry about height in ferries or car parks. Or bad backs.

I have the smaller hang on Thule rack, triple version, mech clips over towball and locks. Do have to strap on the plate and lighting board but simplez.

I went for the Halfords as I was taking four bikes with friends (down to the French place), and the Thule came in really pricy once you put on the 4th-bike extension, plus you don't need a strap-on (for the number plate). The Halfords bloke said not to go for their more expensive model, as the cheapo one was just as good (as long as you don't want to be opening the hatchback too often while it's on - then it's a PITA).

Possibly followed by an inmodded 90’s (third gen) RX-7.
