It's changed a lot over the last 40-50 years from being a countryside car to a city SUV but still looks awesome.
In higher definition, that colour doesn't even look too bad.0 -
That RR is best described as vulgar. Give me Rick's Polo any day over that thing. It's a triumph of conspicuous consumption over taste or style.[Castle Donington Ladies FC - going up in '22]1

Ot looks about as awesome as an unreliable unawesome thing that costs a fortune and isn't good at anything.shirley_basso said:It's changed a lot over the last 40-50 years from being a countryside car to a city SUV but still looks awesome.

I think that was a quote from Bermie Ecclestone? Males perfect financial sense. A similar phrase was 'anything with t**s or wheel will cost you a fortune'.photonic69 said:

The new Range Rover is a very good car. Very. Very. Very good. It’s just a huge shame that idiots and very vulgar people will drive them and the brand has become synonymous with that type of customer. But I don’t think RR will see it as a bad thing as there are plenty of that type queuing up to buy one.0

I thought this was interesting. I heard the Defender was doing well, it does look formidable on the road.0 -

Tesla look like they need to revamp of S and X. In these/future economic conditions, the model two(?) couldn't come soon enough as a more affordable EV.0 -
Depends on what your definition of a very, very good car is I suppose.wavefront said:The new Range Rover is a very good car. Very. Very. Very good. I suppose if its something that is fugly, v expensive, lacking class, over complicated, unreliable, expensive, massively environmentally unfriendly, useless for 98% of roads, useless for its marketed intended purpose, expensive to run, service and insure, and will draw disdain, then yeah, that RR is your car.
Its just a bitshit, tbh, unless you're not into driving cars, a blazer & jeans kinda person, a visual cripple or a footballer..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

I’ve heard from a few car people that it’s absolutely superb - both on and off road - despite being a big departure from the easily repairable older version with all its technology.focuszing723 said:

Yeah, I really thought they were p1$$ing in the wind with it. A farmers hack priced like a city swagger, looks too good to ramp around a farm as well.shirley_basso said:

How wrong was I, it was, maybe still is selling for overs.0 -
You’re right, it is. The interior lets it down with poorer materials, but it’s a hugely capable car and the insane second hand values show how desirable it is currently is.shirley_basso said:

MF has a strange definition of what good means. It may not be our cup of tea (we agree on that) but both the Defender and RR are superb in many ways.0 -
Like quite a few 4x4s they're really good if you actually take them off road. As road cars, they're rubbish. Too heavy, too high a centre of gravity, wallowy suspension, poor handling, brick-like aerodynamics and not a lot of interior space for the size of car. Vans do the same job a lot cheaper and with better interior space.wavefront said:The new Range Rover is a very good car. Very. Very. Very good. If you want a practical car that's good to drive*, get an estate. I did. (* choose wisely, obviously)"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
Nearly all of these cars are never used for what they were designed for. I.e. going off road. Which means most of the owners are driving around in crapp cars.MattFalle said:

Sales figure don't reflect that. Christ! Even Lamborghini (Urus their best selling car), Ferrari, Porsche, Rolls Royce, Bentley...and your beloved Germans make SUV's now.Stevo_666 said:

I never mentioned sales figures. You'll see I said 'quite a few' 4x4s - some are really meant to be off readers, others are more road oriented.focuszing723 said:

Also I'm talking about fitness for purpose. If people want to buy them for a different purpose then fine, it's a free country. Doesn't mean they have chosen well though. Probably a triumph of marketing.
Yes, I have driven a few...how about you?"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]0 -
No, SUV's haven't been around forever so people would have had more traditional styled cars prior. If they thought they were $h1t the market would have declined by now.Stevo_666 said:
