With the panzer out Kruiswijk needs to forget getting in the break (he was trying) and stay with Vingegaard

Tony Martin has finally Ko'd himself.
No way he's getting back on.

He wasn't exactly rushing to try and get himself back out of the ditch. Suspect you're right and he'll climb off.

Edit - yup, off in the ambulance. Hope he heals quickly.

Sprinters getting back on. Russo looks to be in trouble though - he's been low key struggling throughout the race.

Big question about Cavendish etc is whether they rode that climb at tempo knowing they'd got plenty of time to get back on and save energy for later, or whether they were dropped because they simply couldn't hang on.

Cav usually rides tempo in these situations.

Pace yourself over the last bit of the climb and descend faster than they do to get back on. Sprinters have been doing it for decades.
