South Africa have gone for a 7-1 split on their bench against Ireland.
Would be fun to see a couple of their key backs hobble off and have some forwards trying to play in the backs.

France played some sublime rugby last night, hammering Namibia.
However, at 52-0 at half time they left Dupont on, and he was on the wrong end of a head on head about 10 minutes later.
BBC now reporting a suspected fractured jaw or cheek, either of which could be tournament ending for him.
Poor management decision to send him out for the second half which might have badly damaged their WC chances.

Poor management decision to play key players in games like that to start with. Even more so with the risk of a player getting a red card as well as the risk of injury.

I really hope DuPont isn't out for the rest of RWC - it would be a terrible shame for the tournament

Just heard confirmation that DuPont has a facial fracture . . . it is yet to be confirmed whether he will continue in the tournament

Only just switched on the Georgia v Portugal match. Looks like a good close game. I’m guessing two very different styles of play with Georgia being forward oriented and Portugal with all the pace and skill out wide?
  • Just saw last 10 minutes. Looked a good game. I don’t feel so bad about Wales struggling against Portugal now, they play nice rugby

Draws are always such an unsatisfactory result in rugby. Both teams looked gutted and both had a chance to win it in the final minute.

    Sweepstake.

When does Owen get sent off again?

    I'm going 24th minute

Lots of huff and puff for 20 minutes, but Chile now really struggling.

Still, it casts Wales’s win last week in a slightly better light.
    Portugal as certainly no Chile.
Watching England chalk up a cricket score is not much use to either side.

  • Irish hooker having a bit of a mare at the moment.

To be fair though, watching both these sides, the power and precision is a mile above England. We would likely get smashed by either of them.

Might help if ref enforced the gap at the lineout, though Ireland seem to have adjusted.
  • Yes, they seem to have sorted it. Lovely try there.

Ben O'Keefe hasn't shut up. I am all for clear instruction from refs but it feels like he is auditioning for the final.

Massive forward pass for that Saffa try.
Passed well behind 5m line, taken well in front.

S.A. could blow this by being over ambitious with the kicking.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Since Ireland got smashed in that scrum about 15 minutes ago they just keep delaying the put in and SA get penalised for pushing early.

Been very messy since I started watching.

They did. Faf will be kicking himself, if he doesn't miss. 🤣

WTF, the SA player had the ball in his hand and the ref says the ball hasn’t come out and blows up.

Incredible game and a huge win for Ireland.
Ref missed loads, which seemed to favour the Saffas.
Shame the Saffa 7-1 bench didn't badly bite them.

How did he not score then? Did all the hard, just had to dive on top of the ball and let his momentum take it over the line.

Scotland efficiently, if not very entertainingly, dispatching Tonga.

Shame it's not really going to make any difference

Been a bit too scrappy all round, but boy does Finn Russell's passing game create space.

Just wish someone would shut Scott Hastings up, he's woeful as a co-commentator and so, so biased.

Biggar’s injury has done Wales a favour, Anscombe playing very well.

It hasn’t been pretty rugby but nice to see Wales being ruthless when the chances come.

Barnes seems to be enjoying himself, never heard him have so much bants with the players.
