Biggar was "Mastercard Player Of The Match".
As close as you can get to RWC official rating.

Feels like a poor choice but I think outside halves tend to win MotM more than they should due to being more obvious.

I couldn't understand why it was North he was ranting at. He was the one who dropped the ball but it was others who had tried to run it out of defence before shovelling a rushed pass to him under pressure, he had no chance to get it off the field as Biggar seemed to be suggesting. He started his career as an annoying big mouth and I thought he'd grown out of it a bit but it seems to be creeping back in now he's retiring 'wearing his heart on his sleeve' is I believe the accepted phrase for this type of thing.

I agree, I’ve always thought him a tremendous player, albeit a bit of a c0ck with dubious tactical ability.

3 match ban, reduced to 2 for Tom Curry.
Seemingly no citings for the clear head on heads by Kriel or Biggar which is disgraceful.

I can see why DB is Gatlands sort of player. He is mentally and physically robust to say the least. Just wish he could shut up sometimes. I miss Warburton’s quiet authority, or AWJ’s leadership.
I find Liam Williams far more difficult to like tho’.
  • Interesting to hear Welsh perspectives on Biggar. Always thought he was an excellent player but not really known anything about him personality wise. Didn't realise he was seen as something of a contentious character.

Sounds a bit like how many England fans view Farrell.

I always thought Biggar was over-rated up to about 4 years ago, his move to Saints showed him to be a pretty classy player (other than his tackle technique).
However, his attitude on the pitch has always been one of a totaly dick head, from the funny dance pre-kicks, to being overly gobby to referees and to players. He demonstrated that amply at the weekend.
By all accounts he is lovely off the field.

So on field, yes, viewed in the same way as Farrell.

Uruguay giving les bleus a bit of a wake up call...

    Edit - France woke up....

(well I certainly didn't know that about rucks and kicking the ball forward)

Sounds like France seconds aren't anywhere near as good as their firsts.

No, but whose are. A win's a win, no injuries, all they needed etc.

If they'd lost to the All Blacks the BP could have been important but they didn't so...

I think they'd swap an injury free match for the BP.

I’ll never understand how a player can get a cut to the head and not require an HIA.

That must have been a bad leg injury from the reaction of the player himself and the immediate action of everyone. I saw the impact but luckily the cameras didn’t dwell on the aftermath.

Ooh, wish I'd checked here before twitter (which of course is full of pics...)

    To a Namibian?
    (Not watching the game btw)
Damien McKenzie is some player - watched him for the Baabaas at Bath least season and his class stood out a mile. On a par with Finn Russell as the most creative 10 around atm.

yer... one of those "feet don't point that way" injuries.

(Seeing another tweet of the ABs securing the bonus point in the...24th minute is why I'm not watching the match either...)

Yeah, one of those multiple breaks on the shin I think as DD says.

It started pouring down which might help keep the score down as NZ have had a lot of handling errors. 31-3 after 37 minutes, McKenzie is showing some lovely skills although his kicking game isn’t the best (he’s just gone over for his second try 38-3 now).

He hasn’t had to use it much to be honest but he’s just overcooked a couple of kicks through.

TMO determined to get the Samoan player binned there. I’m really struggling to see what else he could do in that situation. I get that the head contact is a problem and needs action (although it’s very difficult to avoid it at times) but that one just seems crazy.

Portugal have started well, playing some lovely rugby which concerns me with Wales being so shite beyond their first choice players.

LRZ scores the opener as I type to ease the nerves.

Looked like a forward pass to me but when are they ever given these days?

Wales are being quite naive, Portugal have a lot of 7s players so Wales just need to keep in tight and control the ball.

Why would you keep kicking the ball to a team that are as good as this in open play? I despair.
  • "Advantage over. Oops, not really."

    Great call.
  • This is awful. 26 - 0 in 12 minutes.
