I can only hope but we've been in this position loads of times before and it's always fallen over......laurentian said:. . . From the BBC website:

There were rumours of Mike Ashley wanting to buy it all......skyblueamateur said:

Never really watched Rugby League before. Just watching Wales v Cook Islands in the world cup. Got to say even though it may not be the highest quality, its quite a good watch and easy to follow..0

I struggle with Rugby league, seems to be run into the oppo 5 times then kick it away.0

Rugby League World Cup is a bit odd, basically a load of countries represented by Australians not good enough to play for Australia so going back through the family tree to check eligibility.0
-
That's the problem when the game is only played seriously in 2 Aussie states and 2 English counties.Pross said:Rugby League World Cup is a bit odd, basically a load of countries represented by Australians not good enough to play for Australia so going back through the family tree to check eligibility.
At least Union is played seriously in at least 10 countries.0 -
Vichy France had significant effect on it being played in France as they virtually outlawed the game.Dorset_Boy said:

Wales are so frustrating, got themselves back in touch several times before giving soft tries away and then the inevitable hammering.1
-
Sadly, just not quite the same class as the ABs - seemed a lot of changes from what you might expect Wales's best team to be?Pross said:Wales are so frustrating, got themselves back in touch several times before giving soft tries away and then the inevitable hammering.
Dreadfully weak reffing in the Ireland Saffa game - double tip tackle with the Irish wing being driven head first into the ground, and only yellow for Colby. Should have been a double red, it was really bad and has no place in the game.0 -

Never thought I’d see Ireland being the best team in the world but they are imperious at the moment.

Ireland turn over the Saffas, but had the ref sent off the Saffa 7 & 15 as he should then it would have been at a canter.
Ireland clearly have huge belief at the moment.0 -
I don’t watch much of the regions so don’t know many players. Did see the new winger playing for the Dragons a few weeks ago and he looks class. They’ve got some decent players there at the moment but they’re still shit as a team.Dorset_Boy said:

The Fijian rugby league players are really good singers. The way they set their key and then sang it all unaccompanied is better than most amateur choirs could do.0

He did well. How is Max Clark getting on? His dad used to ride with us and he grew up playing at our local club.Pross said:

I see that Exeter are selling 'an asset' to repay Covid loans.

I don’t know sorry. I only saw the one match on TV, not a fan of the Regions as they wrecked Welsh club rugby and the Dragons were basically just Newport by another name (until the WRU had to bail them out).0

Well, yes, Newport innit?Pross said:I don’t know sorry. I only saw the one match on TV, not a fan of the Regions as they wrecked Welsh club rugby and the Dragons were basically just Newport by another name (until the WRU had to bail them out).

So far, the England Argentina game has been a comedy of handling errors"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

Very disjointed game with lots of silly penalties from each side0

Even better game at the Rec!0

If Italy had a goal kicker, Australia would already be dead and buried.
Instead they almost gift it away.

Massive win for Pontypool today in a league where it looks like 3 teams are realistically fighting for 2 promotion places they came back from 20-0 down to win 39-27 against one of the other contenders. The final try meant the opposition missed out on a losing BP and they only scored 3 tries so no try BP either. Now top with 7 BP wins from 7 games, 6 points ahead of third with a game in hand and home wins over the two big rivals.0

Big turnaround Pross. Good to win against your rivals.
Big shock in the second RL semi.
Quite a shock in the Italy Australia match too.0 -
Not quite sure how that wasn’t advantage over for Argentina from the Welsh knock on over the line. They had a 3 man overlap when they dropped the ball themselves.0

A streaky win is better than no win at all, I suppose."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0

Argentina are a decent side who have taken some big scalps recently. After last week's drubbing by the ABs, Wales will feel a lot better tonight.0

New Zealand turning in an unbelievably poor performance today.
So many errors and the penalty count is staggering.
Easy to see how they had that extended run of loses, if this was their standard of play."Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0
