Final score flatters Ireland, but as Pross and Matt Dawson observed at the time, (just before Ireland scored try number 3) England were sucking on fumes towards the end.

Flattered them perhaps but clinical when needed.

These head on heads shouldn't be red when everything else about the tackle is 100% legal.
And when Ireland's other second row wasn't even cited for his far, far worse hit in the Italian game is a joke.
Game over. If Ireland don't win by 25 points now.......

Everything except the "leading with the head into the other guy's chin" is quite a big exception.

    The head clash is accidental.
Or maybe you have the ability to tuck your head down into your chest cavity! :#

The head clash was a direct consequence of the way he went into the tackle head first at head height. It being legal in every other way doesn't make any difference.

    Yes.
If it’s very poor tackle technique then it’s hard to call it accidental.
I suppose careless or perhaps knowing the potential consequence, reckless.

This Saints v Wasps match is decent, haven't watched Premiership rugby for a long time.

Haven't got a clue what Wales are up to, they seem to have forgotten they need to secure the game before chasing a try bonus. Being outplayed in pretty much every aspect.

My nephew described this as the Wales “B” team when the selection was announced.
Certainly a few of Pivac’s pets in it.

I find Milan-Sanremo pretty boring but I am watching it in preference to this shower.

They haven't had a tournament where they've earned the right to give the fringe players a run out. They were already down to the B team.

Wales are clueless. The game was won and they kick ball away to the most dangerous player on the pitch.

Absolutely fair result. Wales were dire.

Got what they deserved, there were signs of what Italy were capable of last week but Wales pick a load of second stringers and hand out a vanity cap to AWJ and then start playing for a try bonus before they had the game won (or even any points on the board).

Wales have managed to paper over cracks for years but there's no longer any way of hiding that the foundations are failing.

Brilliant win for Italy. Pleased for them, and good for the 6 Nations.

A good result for the championship.
I never liked Pivac as he can’t get passed his ingrained prejudice of certain players.
Time for him to go and take that bunch of money grabbing wasters running the WRU with him.

This is Wales for the foreseeable future: An international team selected from a handful of chronically underfunded, unsupported regions, propping up the bottom of a cobbled together league.

Just saw that, he gave his man of the match medal to Capuozzo who was fantastic. Nice gesture.

After round 1 I thought Italy might beat Wales if they played each other in round 2, but Wales got better.
A fantastic result for Italy and exactly what they needed and what the tournametn needed.

Italy had looked a far better team than recently throughout the tournament but couldn't keep it going for 80 minutes. Today they kept it going and Wales, who had arrogantly turned up thinking the win was a given and getting 4 tries was the main challenge, played right into their hands.

    Curious position here...

English, but really rather want France to pull this off...

The best result for England would be to be hammered and Eddie getting the boot.

Ireland have done what they can for their chances.

Similar to my thoughts regarding Pivac.

Now between internationals, it time for me to rant about the BBC’s ridiculous inclusivity policy.
The can’t be bothered to show more than the minimum of the men’s six nations, but are happy to show all of the women’s championship.
Not only that, next Saturday afternoon, if you don’t fancy the woman’s rugby, their only alternative is live women’s football!

I'm with you if England persist on trying to win 3 points at a time.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

I don’t think they are unbeatable though.
Apply pressure like Wales did last week but finish more clinically.
