  • Your Prem rugby is very good this year. The Leicester v Worcester game was a great watch
  • Just when I thought things couldn’t get much worse.
Wales team for Scotland includes a player who I have never heard of and a player who’s international career looked to have ended several years ago.

The barrel is being well and truly scraped.

Cuthbert! Even when he was an upcoming player most wondered why he was getting selected. Was dangerous on the occasions he caught the ball but a liability in defence. I'm not surprised at the centre being changed and I assume McNichol was injured but we had a really strong depth of cover on the wing for the last few years.

I'm a bit surprised to see changes in the back row, they were probably the strongest part of the team against Ireland.
  • A bit of an upset in the U20s this evening.
    Italy triumph over England.

Thoroughly deserved. I think England's coaches were hugely complacent and that fed through to the squad. Even though a number of U20 qualified players are playing for their clubs this weekend, even a second string England should be able to beat Italy given the gulf in resources.
  • It is good Italy can win an occasional game in the 6 nations, must be utterly demoralising for them otherwise.

One of Wales' better halves of the last 12 months.

    Yes.
Scotland still the better side though.

I'll never understand changing a whole front row a few minutes after half time. Why not just change at the break?

Agree, 4 minutes into the half is bonkers.
Poor second half - just a kick fest.

I rather enjoyed Leeds v Warrington. End to end play.

And the Welsh Six Nations luck rears its head.
No way is that a yellow for Finn Russell. He knocks it up and then collides with 2 Welsh players. Penalty would have been harsh let alone yellow.

    Wales's game to lose now.

What's the point in taking a drop goal when you have a penalty advantage?

Hmm, not sure what the TMO is seeing as that's a clear shoulder to the head which has to be red.
Unlikely to alter the result, but officials totally wrong. Bashem was high, and no arm, lead with shoulder, hits head = red.

Welsh defence has been fantastic today and won them the game.

Nah, the Scottish player was clearly falling into him from the tackle around the legs. That's why the initial contact on the arms slipped up. Was good to see some common sense being applied to one of those tackles for a change.

Thought Berry refereed the game really well, no messing about sending everything up for a check.

Sorry, he was high anyway. No attenpt to wrap, Leading with shoulder. That;s red in every other match I've seen over the last couple of years.

Far better than last week, especially in defence. Just need a bit more creativity in the centres. LRZ has had nothing to play with in either game and was having to come in looking for the ball today.

I was a big critic of Cuthbert in the last few seasons he played under Gatland but also felt it was unfair picking a player who had clearly lost his confidence. I was surprised to see him back but he played really well today, looked for work and was really sharp on the penalty that hit the post then unlucky to be put into touch.

Back row looked really good today and the front row played well too.

I am glad you never get to ref a Wales game!
    Both yellow imo.

Wales got the better of Scotland in the second half.
Substitutions no doubt playing a part.
    We specialise in winning ugly.

Down to one team still in with a chance of a Grand Slam by this evening.

He had is arm around the side and was about to complete the wrap as the player fell towards him. He certainly wasn't leading with the shoulder.

The player he tackled also caught him in the chin while leading with an elbow. I'll give him the same benefit of the doubt that he was falling but that could have also been red if looked at.

At the final penalty, why didn’t Wales attempt to kick for goal? Very unlikely and not affecting the result, but wouldn’t the kicker want the chance of more points?
Or would play continue in the event of crossbar rebound?

Scotland’s last 5 minutes was their best play in the second half, but very solid Wales defence.

Play continues if the ball remains on the field so too risky. You take the win.

Yeah, hit the post and bounce back and ball's still in play.

Very fair from John Barclay, who post match, called it a definite yellow.
