"on yer bike" is currently on itv. We don't get much racing on terrestrial TV so I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned.

And with this there’s even less racing.

Benoit Cosnefroy takes the Bretagne Classic (GP Plouay) in a sprint v Alaphilippe & Mikkel Honoré, after a break of 60km
Great little race and joy for @iainf72 globally

Caught up with this yesterday after watching too much of the replay of the dull Vuelta stage - great racing and a super performance from Cosnefroy when JA was looking like DQ had it sewn up with 2 out of 3 in the break.

Tim Merlier took the sprint in the Benelux Tour. Klaxons sounded loudly earlier in the stage as the crosswinds blew the race to pieces.
G2 lost just under a minute, which included wonderkid Remco.
    TT tomorrow.

I've not seen it, but apparently Evenepoel was in the front group but Gianni Vermeersch damaged his front wheel and he had to stop to change it. He was not happy.

What was wunderkind Remco moaning at Alpecin about at the end of the race? Didn't look a happy bunny. Director cut away from what could have got interesting.

I believe it was translated as "waaah waaah I didn't win so it was someone else's fault waaaaah"

Was going to get cocky at being one of the few not to pick Remco for GC on PTP but then discovered than Thomas, and the whole Ineos team, missed the front group. Very unusual for them to miss out when there are echelons.

Surprised that the Bretagne classic is in this thread.

DQS blew that one. Well done Cosenfroy - I bet JA was somewhat surprised at the pace he was caught when he went on the attack.

More shaking of the legs should do it next time JA.

I dunno but although JA is a class rider, he gets on my t1ts sometimes.

What classic was he anticipating a sprint and tightening his straps in a 2 man break away only for a rider coming up from behind that spoilt the party?

Translated: Vermeersch admit a mistake? He calls me (when I was in the hospital) because I said in the paper that I thought he should call. The first thing he says is 'do you want to destroy my career?' After that never heard from him again. I was in the hospital for 5 days because of him.

Interesting TT course in Benelux today. Plenty of bike paths, including a 180 turn that's tight for the bikes, let along the cars following. Also seems to be an almost compulsory bunny hop section. Some big time gaps.
    Bissenger leads atm.

Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.

Colbrelli takes Stage 6 at Benelux by 42" from a small group led in by Mohoric. Kung lost over a minute so Colbrelli takes the GC lead too.

Hadn't seen yesterday's stage result until just now but having picked Ewan for the likely sprint stages 1, 3 and 4 with him getting a 9th place on one and being outside the top 100 on the others he ended up winning the first stage I had down for Classics riders.
  • AvV wins the Challenge by La Vuelta overall. The race was 4 stages. Stage 1 was won by Marlen Reusser in a breakaway with a lead of ~1.45 over favourites in the peloton. Stage 2 was a 7km mountain time trial won by AvV, but Reusser was only 20s behind, retaining a substantial overall lead. The lumpy stage 3 saw a classic AvV lone break of about 60k winning by just under 3 minutes and just over 3 to Reusser to take a healthy lead into the final stage. Stage 4 was won by Lotte Kepecky as her and Longo Borghini just caught the break of Leah Thomas shortly before the line, with AvV and a reduced peloton finishing just behind.

Bahrain 1 - 2 in Benelux. Mohoric soloed to the stage win and Colbrelli beat Dumoulin up the Mur for second and the overall.

I'm not defending Leferve, whose earlier comments and propensity to handle this stuff in public are reprehensible, but I think he has a right to be angry over this. Bennett is still a DQS rider, hasn't ridden for the team since early May and is claiming he is injured, but is somehow able to represent his country in the national team equivalent of a shitty little race, whilst DQS continue to pay his wages.
