Nascar might look roughneck but like all motorsport it is money that makes it go round. Protecting their brand scores higher than protecting the minority flagrant racists. They need more fans than a Trump convention so they have to appeal to a wider base. Sports are often the first to bow to public pressure as the have the flame of publicity and looking bad can be terminal.

Can't believe that the most rudimentary investigation would not have discovered this, but then again, it would have quashed the story and publicity wouldn't it?

What? Another made up BLM story from the BBC?
Their propaganda department need to step it up.......

    ...........and that didn't take long.

Yeah, Wales is absolutely rolling in top jobs, especially in the Welsh Valleys.
    Why not try there?

Spell out what your problem with virtue signalling is.

I thought I got to the heart of it, but you didn't really respond to me, so I never found out if I did or not.

I'm surprised BLM have not tried to explain 'white privilege' to the working class of Burnley. Should be an interesting conversation...

I'd have thought that should be a fairly straightforward conversation.

White working class people in Burnley face the same challenges in life as BAME working class people in Burnley, but not the additional challenges of racism due to the colour of their skin.

Unless you exclude BAME people from your definition 'working class of Burnley'

I would exclude the few BAME people around here from being working class.
They are either white or pale blue collar workers. (hope the term white is ok in this context.)
Large swaths of the white community here form the "out of working" class.

I appreciate that this area might well be untypical, but I can understand why it would be hard for folks scraping a living not to feel left out and forgotten at this time.
Without wanting to spill over too far into politics, that's also pretty much the how Tories view areas that aren't winnable.

Nothing 'hard core' about me, reactionary or otherwise.

In the display of solidarity following the noose non incident, what was achieved apart from ramping up tensions further unnecessarily and more importantly, giving a bunch of white men the chance to feel better about themselves.

I also used the term to refer to Pelosi who got her soundbite tick in the box about a few statues in the Capitol, which it appears she has no control over, as they are supplied by each state. All this whilst ignoring the elephant in the room, well in S. Dakota anyway.

I have also used it on other threads to describe people who went to protest Trump's election, in the streets of London. Trump is all people feared he would be, but what did the outraged placard wavers expect to achieve apart from getting their tick in the box? Funny how there are rarely protests about some of the world's despots upon whom HMG may bring pressure to bear. But there would be no kudos in that would there.

Absolutely. Complain about the inconsistency. Point out the hypocrisy. But most importantly, make sure everyone sees you doing it by using a catchy on-trend word. 😉

I have called this movement out as a leftie political one from the start and it is proving to be exactly that.

The left, because of their policies cannot win via the ballot box so we get the losers massing on the streets instead, usually the more wacky elements. The middle ground then see them for what they are and thus vote for those on the right again, rinse and repeat.

Until the left accept their democratic defeat via the ballot box, the right will continue to get voted in. This has happened in the UK with the EU referendum and is happening in America right now.

    With Biden?

A man who right now is older than Trump will be at the end of his second term. The Dems seem to be doing everything to get Trump elected for a second term.

I wonder if the lefties around the world will accept that democratic result come November?

Did you see the video of the protestors, who are aligned to the Dems, cheering at burning the American flag yesterday?

Those sort of actions will push middle America right into the arms of Trump

Given how judgemental you have been about fatties in the coronavirus thread, I would think you'd be more damning of Don's diet and general physical health. That may have aged him beyond his years.

Perhaps they could release the video evidence of it being there last October, eight months before the garage being allocated?
