I think about lots of things. But I'm not minded to just tell people what they want to hear. Not really a debate is it.
I can't speak for others, but I don't "want to hear" anything. Just interested in your view.

I don't want you to say something negative about their performance on the exams, if you think they did well

I mean, if you don't want to share your views on the Conservative Party, why continually post in a thread on the Conservative Party?

There's a dark humour in this.

    Oh OK then.
    - Won an 80 seat majority
    - Handed Labour their worst election defeat in decades
    - Put the Lib Dems and Wee Jimmy Krankie back in their boxes
    - Took a suitably firm line with the EU and delivered the WA
    - Took sensible measure to support the economy in the pandemic e.g. the CJRS and EOTHO.
    - Pi $$ed you off no end ;)

    How's that for starters?
    This?
Where is my statement that the WA is a success? I simply stated that he delivered it.

A bit of balance is needed sometimes, given all the centre leftiebollox going around on here, usual thing

But you're right, I shouldn't encourage the whiners.

    No.
So unless the wa is a success, how can it be a benefit to the UK?

Or are we down to just the coronavirus furlough support (which I agree with you about).

It was a necessary step in the leaving process and had met a lot of political resistance. so delivering it in that regard was a positive for Boris. But re: the WA itself I was not commenting on how much of a success it was.

Stevo is a nice example with the problem of the Tories right now.

Entirely ideologically and intellectually bereft. No overarching idea how how a society should be run and no blueprint of how to make that work for everyone.

Half the party is engaged in permanent revolution over Brexit and each iteration is never extreme enough.

What you’re left with is a mess of f@ck ups, u-turns and general incompetence.

Even their ardent supporters, in this case Stevo, can only offer the success of “winning an election” and on a social security scheme the party itself has spent two decades eschewing and would have been done similarly by any other mainstream party.

I guess it’s the ultimate manifestion of the post-modern world where we are all bereft of new ideas and can only recycle existing ones in ever more decrepit ways as they become increasingly irrelevant to the contemporary world.

I agree with this. I genuinely think that pounds and ounces are going to become a major policy decision at some point in the near future.
Maybe having lots of stuff to react to is a good thing as it is distracting them from enacting yet more backwards claptrap ideas.

Delivering the WA was a good thing for the UK as it took us out of the political paralysis that was created by politicians whose views were out of touch with the electorate.

The WA ignores the will of the electorate as expressed in the June 2016 referendum.

  • Assuming that Boris is ambivalent about an FTA what would have happened if he had not signed the WA? Other than immediately crashing out could he have save tens of billions on exit payments?

So apparently, leading Tories are saying that they want to make 'returning to the office' as a high a priority as opening schools, which seems a bit odd to me.

You would have thought the free-marketers would have embraced the impressive adaptation to the virus that so many office-based firms have done.

But instead they are pre-occupied with propping up industries around said offices.

Maybe one for the FatBo fanbois. With the swirl of rumours of the Dear Leader playing away, again, strife with latest co-breeder, superinjunction et al, why on earth would anyone, male female or other, get into bed with that one? Unless they reckon on getting a substantial future revenue stream?
