Awww man, now I want perfect edge angles...

Slightly more seriously though, I could shave with a freshly sharpened knife after 5 minutes work. All I really need to do is chop an onion or julienne a carrot.

Mrs H3 has learnt to live with the sound of steel being drawn across a stone without panicking.

The fallkniven is rock solid. Doesn't wear away like the japanese water stones. The sapphire ceramic side is nothing short of miraculous for getting a polished edge.

    What a faff ^ . A sharpening steel, that's all you need.

Bear in mind, I spent a few years in catering.

I appreciate I can be a tw@t, but try sharpening a blunt knife with a steel. If you were in catering, all the knives were rented, and sent to be sharpened weekly, and you just maintained the edge with a steel. A steel will not put an edge on a knife. My brother still works in catering, 22 years under the knife as it were...

Yes, that's all we did - we maintained the edge but what else needs to be done?
I have 4 Sebatier's of which I have never sent off anywhere. I have had them for years.

    I painted that wagon Bally.

Well, my mind boggles 'cos my knives cut just fine.
And since 1991, I have cut myself twice using a kitchen knife for what it's supposed to.
Ray Orton* showed me how to use them properly and i've never looked back. I think that is the key.

*Of Orton's Restaurant, 4 Bolton Road, Eastbourne. Now deceased. Very good chef, total tw@t. I learnt so much in a short period of time.

I'm far more Clint than Marvin. It's the nose you see.

Fcken ready meal lasagne with microwaved veg. Gonna neck a valium and gawp at the box. Friday treat innit. Trailer park style. Shame it isn't oxycodone, and that I can't wash it down with some malt liquor.

Nah. Fortunately, the best laid plans of mice and men prevailed so instead we ate fried, wee timorous beasties.
Better than Hoppy's Lasagne I expect.

Home made Pizza with side salad washed down with a surprisingly nice sparkling Australian Chardonnay/Pinot Noir.
In fact i've broken into it already but the damn dough is taking it's time to rise.

My next job will be ordering and collecting some Thai take away which I don't mind doing as it's better than Stressbag's cooking :) Just waiting for Lady Muck to place her order...

She is very cosmopolitan. Surely that lends itself to good cooking.
Is that why you are such an irksome f*cker?

    Power to the people...

Oddly, when we drive through Tooting, it manages to do a decent impression of a sh1t hole.
