Take it out of the fridge an hour before you start cooking. Dry it with kitchen paper before you put in the oven. Make sure the rind is scored. Salt it. 15 mins at 220, then turn down to 170 and another 40 should do it. Rest for 15 mins. I had roast pork belly on Thursday night. Had it with mash, peas and a bought peppercorn sauce.

Yup. Restarted riding. Cutting back heavily on booze. Too stingy to buy new clothes, easier to lose weight.

Most mornings is yoghurt and fruit.

Shared cooking duties. Radio on, glass of something nice, gives you a break from the kids and plenty of brownie points on offer.

The plate and the grub get a big thumbs up from me. Simple but perfect. That dark green, flecked with chilli and oil, plus the cheesy goodness, all bolstered by the staff of wheat.

We had spinach dal out of the freezer with some brown basmati (pressure cooker, done in 25 mins). Well, 3 of us did. Mini had some beige gack.

My main issue with brown rice is that it takes more than twice as long to cook and I ain't down with that.

Takes twice as long to digest it as well.

We had seared tuna steaks in a soy and honey glaze. With egg noodles and stir fry veg. Took about 10mins all in!

One for the trivial annoying things really, but the trend for calling things 'slaw.

    I find it incredibly annoying.

Its there with "handcrafted" foods and drink (even sodding Costa use this term) and things being lovingly "curated" when they've just been selected/chosen.

i didn't realise there was a trend. i'm just too lazy to type the whole word.

Sausages in onion gravy with added smoked ham with mash (again).
    Tomorrow more bread making.

Now - on couch. Mashed after roller session went silly. Intervals innit.

    Lovely.

I like BBQing Mackerel on a skewer - it's less oily that way.

Cod fishcakes and fennel for us. Odd choice of veg by Strifey but it seemed to work.
