GAP CARLTON FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHATS THE GAP!!!

The skill gap between people who descend using basic techniques and the chap who decides the hoods are better who keeps going out of control on the corners? Massive.

Yeah but you're not a team leader at the Tour de France.

Still don't get why you wouldn't though, it's faster, more stable and you have better control of the brakes.

    Negilgable, disagree...meh

Behave, it's not negligible at all. And no-one has mentioned the weight forward and lower on the drops giving you a much better technique and ability to pressure the front tyre to create more grip.

No, sorry, that's body position. Hands are irrelevant there

Good one. Can't wait to see you descend on either an MTB or road bike, or corner a motorbike (trackday?! I seem to remember that you ride motorbikes) and let's see how it goes.

You have drops on a motorbike??

(Or an MTB?? Mine's actually got a "riser" bar on it for better descending)
I can't believe we're arguing about this, if it was that negligible road bikes wouldn't have drops on them would they.

You can't pretend it doesn't drop your CoG.

    Sit on your bike

Put your hands on the drops

Without moving your shoulders (relative to bike/floor) move your hands onto the drops.

Elbows bent, loads of "flex" for suspension. hands hooked in behind lever tops

    Sorted.

Trouble is roadies forget they have elbows...
