Aru beats Dowsett's time! I think they need to have a good check on his TT bike for mechanical doping.

Fabio Aru has beaten Dowsett. Has the wind changed to favourable? Tony Martin looks disgusted although he often does without justification.

So, now Aru can't climb but can time trial. :?
Can’t climb or won’t climb these last few days? If the latter, he’s effectively been resting.

The way he ground to a halt and almost wobbled into a car on Sunday wasn't him taking a rest.

    Whhhhhhhaaaaa!?

Has a sudden huge tailwind picked up? Or did he have a line from a car ahead?

I'm usually incredibly unsuspecting of good performances, but that is fishy.

Maybe it's because I watched Icarus last night in the void of a highlight show.

I think Aru shakes his head when he sees Aru. He's not actually physically capable of keeping his head in one position.

I saw a GCN test a while back where they stated a small positive aero effect with a rider behind. I think they need to look at how close some of those team cars are following some riders. There must be some "push" effect there.

aru has been sandbagging it a bit remember..more morale than ability. so maybe fresher

With that time from Aru can we expect Yates to go top 3?

That question does allay doubts a little. I think he was towed by the police motorbikes practically the whole way. It’s really farcical how close the cars and motorbikes are to the riders in these time trials. Some of the riders were also surfing the bow wave of their team car.

Well that was unexpected! I wasn't a big fan of Aru but I'm starting to enjoy watching him bury himself in spectacular fashion.

Meanwhile Froome is on an empty road as far as the eye can see. Why is road cycling so amateurish? It bugs the hell out of me.
