Dowsett was top 10 during stage 1 but pretty quiet since. He's my wild card for today... though I haven't risked him for PTP.

In the last stage both Tony Martin and Alex Dowsett came in five minutes behind the grupetto to try and get as early a start time today as they could.

seems a lot of effort for 4 or 5 minute earlier start

Dropped 14 places - doesn't sound like much extra effort was involved.

Dowsett is currently more than 50-1. Should I take a punt based on your insight?

    E-W?

    Possibly.

Not a dead cert. But those odds are way out.

I've taken 60-1 to win. Not much liquidity in the place market. If he wins, I might even buy dish a drink!

I've just placed that bet. Only £5@34-1. Pays £108 if he wins.

Kirby opens up by saying that it's a pretty technical finish.
Kelly opens up by saying it isn't a technical finish.

Can Uncle Tom catch Diddy Domenico for 3 minutes, I wonder?

Dumoulin to overcook it chasing seconds and end up in tangle mess in the crowd. Froome will do likewise but his back wheel will continue to spin, melting the twitter-sphere.

Dowsett slower than Mullen at first check, but this could be a good thing all concidered

I'd forgotten about Kiri. Must be in with a decent shout unless Sky think they have another chance of a surprise stage.

I think he'd prefer it to be a lot harder. But he might surprise us.

In terms of time, this course is 10 minutes shorter than last year's.

Campanaerts' kit makes it look like he is wearing a white leotard over black tights. Very strange.
