Ineos saying they’re going to ‘support him’. Fucks sake.

In fairness they said what he did was unacceptable and they supported the action taken. The ", support" was to help prevent it happening again. Clearly they need to control him but I don't get the impression they condone him.
How many strikes before he's out?
I'm pretty sure that if I threw my bike at a colleague it'd be a Gross Misconduct case. May be mitigated if the colleague knocked me off it whilst coming into work I guess ... ;)

Playing Devil's Avocado a sec, he doesn't 'throw the bike at a cyclist' he just ("just") throws it over his head. Now, he's a dumbo for not realising that there is a high likelihood of someone being behind him for sure but let's not overdramatise.

Given that he's usually DSQ'd for literally throwing fists at people, this is actually fairly tame for dear Gianni...

I just threw my bike down the garden to see what would happened, nothing! I hit nobody. Moscon was just unlucky that there happened to be a bunch of people around him at the time. If people were more considerate around him and kept their distance, they wouldn't have to duck would they!

No, but the garden gnome you hit is suing for damages...

Hes only been DQ'd twice before hasn't he?
Once for hanging on a car and once for not hitting anyone. I know there have been other issues but you cant make up stuff when there may be legal repercussions from your actions.

    Nah he's a censored and a bully.

Question is, is his wattage output worth the cost of his f***s ups?

    INEOS say yes..?!

    (fyi. ddraver remains unsure)

They also know him beyond the occasionally ten second video on YouTube. He may have issues which occasionally get on top of him.
What I do know is that publicly demonising him, alienating him and filling him with resentment as most of social media seem to want to, isn't solving anyone's problems.

I think the guy is a bit of a d**k who needs a good talking to but what do you mean by "out"? Kicked out of the sport? It's difficult because his ban didn't seem to reform him but I'd be reluctant to deny him of his career.

well - it's not like pro-cycling doesn't have a history of fisticuffs - so I guess just let him ride ... but if all they're going to do is DQ from a race - is it much of a deterrent if you want to curb that sort of behaviour?

  • Moscon looking very vulnerable after allegations of racist taunts to Reza and purposefully knocking Reichanbach off

Hope it's a long ban - it's looking that way

David Lappartient , has already openly expressed : " We must be tough about it. I'm checking the case very carefully. After addressing racist phrases and pushing a colleague off the road, for me the rider has nothing to do with cycling ".

Love the way the Italians describe it ...

Very harsh words, which suggest an imminent disqualification (perhaps even long ...), which could deprive Moscon of participation in the Spring Classics. For Team Sky, after Chris Froome's positivity to salbutamol, it's raining in the wet ...

Just worth looking at post one from this thread

I think that all that first post shows is that the current UCI president isn't fit for office.

Yet you seem to think this guy is great.

TDF 2016: A hand injury suffered in a fight with a drunken hotel guest at the weekend will keep Nacer Bouhanni out of the Tour de France.

TDF 2017: Is it fair that Nacer Bouhanni remains in the Tour de France, and Peter Sagan is sitting at home?
On Tuesday, Cofidis sprinter was handed a light sanction after TV captured him taking a swing at Jack Bauer (Quick-Step) with about 7km to go.

    I think there's a word for that.

Me? I think they are both hot headed d!cks.

Anyhow, I think bike throwing is an Italian sport and the women excel at it.

I think people who are stressed and in pain deserve some leeway even if they are professionals and supposed to be above it all. This goes more for Longo-Borghini than Moscon, who has quite the track record.

Either way, it's a spur of the moment thing and requires sensible moderation, not exemption from the team or profession.

Question I'm curious from that clip is how did two bikes manage to become entangled when the (assumed) rider of one of the bikes is struggling to crawl on the road 15 metres behind and the other is up the road, standing over the entanglement trying to sort out the mess.

You have to admire the commitment to causing that crash.

And afterwards, the defence was a classic of the "not that kind of rider" genre.

    All round a solid effort.

Just watched yesterday's Breakaway with the interview with Reza and subsequent discussion of BLM.

Looking back, it is absolutely ridiculous, almost unbelievable, that the UCI took no formal action against Moscow for racially abusing Kevin Reza. Complete joke and sends totally the wrong message.

Not so much get Moscon out but get Lappartient out, I would say.

Brian Cookson was UCI President when Moscon racially abused Reza. That was at the 2017 Tour of Romandie, in May, Lappartient defeated Cookson at the UCI Congress in Bergen in September 2017.
