The race goes past some chateaus. I know shocking, who knew? But more interestingly the race goes near the Lascaux cave that has rather excellent cave paintings.

But most importantly who will fall off, abandon, or be DQ'd?

And will anyone spot Haimar Zubeldia or this new pretend bloke named George Bennett*

*A name so boring he must be made up.

Judging by Sunweb's take on the Dutch national jersey, Barguil will be wearing this jersey design tomorrow.

Never mind the racing, for a second - weirdly, I've actually performed with John Nettles at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

I have a terrible feeling that underwhelming fact is still more interesting than tomorrow's stage will be. Ho hum.
  • I know it's gonna be dull. But I also know I'm gonna end up watching it.

    WHY :D

    Also, isn't Périgueux-Bergerac Jacob Rees-Moggs' third child?

Does he need to go the STD clinic? He's a bit spotty 'down there'.

Perhaps fortunately, the version of the photo I'm viewing doesn't extend that far.

    Well done, AtC.
For that, I will do the next, even more boring stage and the following mountain stage.
I have already done them elsewhere, hence I couldn't be arsed with tomorrow.

Here' some black gold to be going on with.

    summer8oz.jpg

    And some wine.

Underwhelming? That's the biggest revelation of the race so far!

    We* want details:

    - What was the play, and what was your part?
    - Are you still treading the boards?
    - What's Lord Nettles of Jersey like?

*I want details as I'm a nosy get
It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

It may prove dull racing - but every centimetre of the route is gorgeous. Also, an area heavily populated by facking hoity-toity Brits who fink they're too facking good for facking Spain...

This stage appears to go right through where I'll be on holiday in 4 weeks time, there's even a 4th cat climb where I'm staying. Typical!

Just checked at the first climb appears to start right by my campsite. Should give me a chance to check out the scenery so I know what to expect.

Yep, will be getting some marathon training in on these very roads while I'm there.

We just need a bit of a breeze and it seems a route shaped for carnage...

Two roundabouts at 3km to go, then two 90 degree left hand turns inside the last km. Going to be fast for the last 20km, if not beforehand.

Nothing so flash, I'm afraid. Just in a choir for some words and music thing during the birthday celebrations. No interesting gossip on Nettles either, sadly. Told you it was underwhelming...

That's alright, being on the stage with Inspector Barnaby/Bergerac is at least a little whelming to us mere mortals :D

At least this boring sprint stage should have decent scenery.

    There's the Vézère Valley.

    Dordogne2.jpg

The tourist magnate that is Sarlat.

    and le Roque Gageac.

With Kidl being the clear sprint favourite and teams left with no GC, maybe the right break will be left to it.
