Orica are going to need to chase a bit with Buchmann up there.
.. don't panic. Buchmann is going to fry in the third. Play the long game if i was Orica. yates is bloodied over 3 weeks.

that said I picked Buchmann as my PTP today

Did I see that right; Cannondale rider just sprinted through the feed zone scattering helpers on the way - two minutes later he was holding out his bidon calling up the team car

Sky a bit caught between here - they've got Rowe in the Demare group...

Not sure Rowe's 100% fit though - hes been dropping off unexpectedly and was blown out the back early today -so Sky might accept that they were always likely to lose him. Doubt the time to the finish is now within Sky's control anyway.

Why is Demare over 10km back ? Is he injured or just bonked ?

If you go to the non-commentary feed on Eurosport you get much more of a sense of how fast they're going because you can here the engines.

Dropped on the first climb (uncategorised) and then killed off by the incessant pace as the break tried to form for the first 80km.

Team said yesterday that night before he had "a very disturbed night" which everyone assumed was shorthand for a bit poorly. A day like this would exacerbate any slight illness

I missed that. Long lonely day for him up ahead.

Someone mentioned Renshaw a few pages ago and Rowe has been mentioned on the commentary.

And how much further back will he slip when they hit the cat climbs?

The Tour website just says two other FdJ riders. Maybe Rowe and others are ahead of them

No let up from the bunch. So the belief that today is a break day could have killed that idea!
