That's a great cow collective and a lovely trotteur de charme, AtC

So. Stevo C for this stage?

That's exactly what Mr Cows has just said, who knew he paid so much attention.

I like to think of Mr Cows as a disinterested, impartial observer, not swayed by hyperbole or hysteria. I shall henceforth refer to him as "Above The Bull(****)"

That is indeed a very accurate description of him in all matters.

HUge group forming off the front, less a break and more of a selection. Sky up the tempo to try to bring it back.

So 70km of frantic racing and we still don't have a stable break

Greipel still hanging on. Fully strung out!

I just tuned in and I have zero idea what is going on. Seems like I've missed some real racing. Typical.

Good advert for seeing the full stages. This is great fun

Is there a possibility that the break takes so long to be established that they end up with not enough road to get a big enough gap to stay away?

None of the riders know what's going on either. The good news is that you haven't missed the break getting away, if it's any consolation?

30 seconds and with about 35 riders in it. Where's Stevo?

SKY with three in the break. As long as no contender has sneaked in I guess they're happy to let it go

3rd category climb coming up in not too long, that should thin the group out a bit. Feel stressed watching riders try to sort out the rotation in that big a group!

And now there's a selection out front, De Gendt starts the whole process off again to try and force a smaller group...

This is where I am missing the moto3 option on Eurosport Player. I could go and check on Stevo.

This opening 90mins has been awesome.

Performance of the day so far has to go to Ned & Meeelar, their calling of the race, the tactics and predicting what was going to happen next has been astounding. Hats.

There's a load of Sky and BMC'ers in that front group.

I agree. This is where Millar is at his best - he has experience of this sort of racing, much easier to commentate when you know what's coming next
