Backaert from Wantygroup went old school today and put a lettuce leaf in his helmet to keep his head cool.

    Suffered from sunstroke yesterday.

Classic bit: Dutch rtl journo goes around asking people what they think of Aru....

    You can imagine the rest.

Jan Jansen also upset the rest of the peloton didn't step on the gas when Froome took a detour.

Regails stories of when Poulidor crashes everyone else got on it.

    "It's his fault he crashed!!"

I'm worn out. That was a great watch. Merci et Felicitation Lilian
Merci might be what his DS, Jean-Rene Bernadeau, said to Lilian, because it was a birthday present of a kind - Bernadeau was 61 years old today.

That stage had everything minus some GC action and cows.
They went through a village that had cut out images of cows on every lamppost. I hoped you saw it as they were cute.
Sorry can not remember where it was now.

Are you guys getting any interviews with Aru?

Seems he doesn't speak to the Dutch press.

    Nothing on UK coverage.

If he were wearing a UKIP jersey he'd be on every bloody programne, including Blue Peter, Gardener's World and Ten Thirty Being A Bit Racist With Extra Nigel Farage, but y'know, good looking Italian jersey so bugger all.

Interesting contrasting views on Sky today from two podcasts:

The Cycling Podcast (mostly the French guy): Sky worked too hard. Should have let Landa go. Will pay for it tomorrow

Stages (Armstrong): Sky got a free ride. Their big riders never saw the front. Look out tomorrow.

In commentary, David Millar made the observation that for the first third of the race, Sky had been able to sit on wheels and let others, interested in getting into the break, chase.
Then, no GC action and no time taken back on the break on the final climb.

Armstrong right twice, in a matter of days.

I did not see it! How did I not see it? It must have been when I went to make a cup of tea. Bl00dy hell, I see everything else and miss the most important part of the stage.
    Correlation is not causation.
