    Eep, soz. Moving on...

Have to say I'm a little surprised at Nieve's decision to head to Orica. He seemed to fit in well to the Sky train. More money? Maybe he feels Chaves is the better bet going forward? Or does he secretly want his own chances again?

I've always assumed he rode for lotto-soudal anyways so I'm happy with that.

I mean, I *knew* he rode for orica, but my brain just didn't seem to accept this and tried to convince me he was one of the guys in red.

Meanwhile Jurgen Roelandts is leaving Lotto – Soudal to join BMC for 2018.
  • Are Lotto going to have any Classics riders left? I'm not sure Benoot counts as one of those anymore.

The Rein Taaramäe to Direct Energie signing is perhaps more interesting?

Cousin was at Europcar and Im not sure what his two seasons at Cofidis were for...? He's got some good GT experience though

Bernaudeau putting a lot of faith in Calmejane - The two signings are obviously putting him as team leader

    This is great news
  • I saw this lad lap an entire scratch field 3 times, then take the final sprint in Toulon, back in July 2013.
I said then he'd be good and has since gone on to be a WC on the track.
Benjamin Thomas leaves the Army for FDJ.

With Matteo Trentin filling his slot at Orica, from Quick Step.

The king of Flanders moves teams.

He will still be supporting a slightly better Belgian for the classics than he.

    Deserves the pay day though.

    Well done Jurgen :)
  • Odd Eking to Wanty is odd indeed. When are we getting a Scandanavian team !

Marcel Kittel to Katusha is a rumour from the ITV podcast

Yeah. Is dependent upon Kristoff going, likely to Astana, though.

Wonder what QuickStep will look like next year...

    Gilbert confirmed he's re-signed.

    Source ?

Him on vivé velo. Near enough anyway. Are rulez to follow.

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

    Interesting interview with him here.

Suggests that Dimension Data only have sponsorship guaranteed for one more year. And as we know they are pushing hard to resign Meintjes.

Also note his comments about Katusha not really being a Russian team these days.

    Didn't see that one coming!

Quite a few people have now left Sky, pondering if they will have an influx of signings to report soon as well.

  • Good for Boswell. He's never going to get a shot at riding the Tour with Sky (which I suspect he really wants to do), also good to shake things up a bit
  • From what I'd seen and heard he seemed happy as a domestique at Sky, so that's surprising.

But then yeah, he ain't getting nowhere near the Tour team at Sky

    Formolo off to Bora.

With the rest of the old Cannondale/Leakygas team also leaving Vaughter's outfit...

So what does that leave them with?

When you've got Sagan, Bennett and Majka, you only need the other riders to chip in with a win or two.

Stage win in Giro and pink jersey, stage win in TdF even after Sagan out - Most teams would sign up for that.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Not one of them won by their climbers, which was the extent of my post. Konrad, Muhlberger, Kennaugh, Buchmann, Formolo and Herklotz (is he still a climber?). That's a big support cast of climbers.

Edit: just realised that I'd forgotten they had Konig on their books. Which could explain their signings.
